Monsters!

So I've sent you over to visit Becca at The Damsel of Distressed Cards before....she is mad talented with paper & ink, and a super funny & kind bloggy gal (why aren't you following her yet? Go do it!). And guess what? She decided to start a featured blogger feature (I tried, that's the word. lol) and asked me if I'd be her first - bet she's a little sorry about that now ;) We decided to both case one of my favourite cards, and WAIT until you see what she did! I love it! (and she's got a little something for a lucky commenter...seriously, get over there!)

Here's the card we CASEd:

I kept thinking I would be inspired by the sentiments, or the colours...and instead I just kept making monster cards!

Supplies: MONSTAH! journaling cards from Bo Bunny; sentiments from Paper Smooches; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Wink of Stella black pen; Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder; MFT stars die; googly eyes

Supplies: stamps from Daisy Bucket; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Bic marker; Versamark & ZING EP; monsters journaling cards from Bo Bunny (striped paper); googly eyes

Supplies: papers from Fancy Pants; monster sticker from K&Co; sentiment from Crafty Secrets; Wplus9 banner die; Corner Chomper; labels 5 Nesties

So now that you've seen my monstah blitz, head on over to Becca's blog & see what terrible things I said, and her awesome card! Thanks so much for lifting my spirits, Becca!

Freebie Friday at Bugaboo!

It's Friday! And that means a new freebie over at Bugaboo, thanks to the generous Jodie. You are definitely going to want to snag this little fella, Marshmallow Snowman - Candy Cane:

Supplies: Marshmallow Snowman - Candy Cane digi from Bugaboo; Spectrum Noir markers; paper from MME; classic small oval Nesties; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; Diamond Stickles; googly eyes

I printed out two copies of the snowman, and coloured & cut out the body of the second image to pop it up for some dimension. I added gloss to the carrot nose & little heart, and lots of Diamond Stickles for a snowy sparkle.

Make sure you pop on over to Catch the Bug to see what the others have done with this adorable image, and then head on over & pick it up for yourself for free :)

Since both snowmen and candy canes give me joy, I'm entering this over at Creative Card Crew's Christmas Joy challenge.

Rustic Quilled Snowflake

Remember last week's Merry Monday card? Well, here's the snowflake that I made, finally on a card. This week's challenge is Rustic Christmas, and the wood paper I picked up on the weekend made a perfect base.

Supplies: wood paper from MME; oval pearls from ancient stash; quilled snowflake made by me

Simple and pretty! This card measures 5.25" square.

I can already tell I'm going to regret only buying one sheet of wood! I ordered more quilling paper last week & it just arrived, so with any luck I'll have some more fun stuff to show you :)

Christmas Critters!

I've been playing along with the Jingle Belles all year, and thus I'm not panicked about having enough cards ready for the Christmas season. OK, well, not AS panicked. I wouldn't be me if I didn't panic. This first card is also for the Kraft Journal Critters challenge.

Supplies: patterned papers from Crate Paper; mouse rub-on from Royal Langnickel; SRM sticker sentiment; classic small oval Nesties

Supplies: digi from Aurora Wings; Spectrum Noir markers; papers from Bo Bunny; Sew Easy; buttons from stash; Wink Of Stella black glitter pen; Picket Fence distress stickles; Opal liquid pearls; Tumbled Glass distress ink; classic small circle Nesties

Our weekend getaway included a stop at Carsand Mosher (a scrapbooking store) and I picked up a few new Christmas goodies to play with, including this fun Bo Bunny paper and black & clear Wink Of Stella pens. Yahoo!

Shopping our Stash #176 - Leaf me Alone!

OK, not exactly. We don't want you to leaf us alone at Shopping our Stash - we want you to play along with us and use some leafy stuff. I dug out this ancient Hero Arts ginkgo leaf (I bought it on ebay, so I've had it at least since 2005 - and I bought it used!)

Supplies: Hero Arts ginkgo leaf stamp; Paper Smooches sentiment; Market Street Stamps burlap background stamp; Versamark & clear detail EP; Peeled Paint distress ink; Olive Green glimmer mist from Tattered Angels

After stamping & embossing the leaf, I painted it in with glimmer mist for extra shine, and then added some splatter. Simple and easily mailable card for that person you're missing :)

I can't beleaf you don't have something with a leaf to play with - so join us before next Monday,November 10th!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #274 - Stitchy Bear!

Stella Says Sketch #218

It's no secret that I love working with sketches - and Stella Says Sketch, so I did! I am now at the age where I appreciate the sentiment she's expressing...

Supplies: Stella Red Hat - Depends from Bugaboo Stamps; Spectrum Noir markers; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; hat button from Dress it Up!; Timeless Twine; kraft card stock; designer paper from Basic Gray; Seedless Preserves distress ink; classic small & lacy oval Nesties; 1 1/8" circle punch; feather from stash

I added Dimensional Magic to Stella's glasses & shoes for a bit of shine, and remembered that I had some "Red Hat Lady" themed buttons in my stash. I didn't know I'd have a hat to fit Stella perfectly - and once I found the hat, I neeeeeeeeeeeeded that red feather! It took some time to locate but was worth the search!

Here's the sketch & details:

You have two weeks to join the challenge by entering your creation into the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post.  At the end of the two week sketch challenge, we will draw three random prize winners! You can be the winner of one of the following, simply by entering and following the sketch!
It is perfectly okay if you rotate the sketch or embellish it, but please be sure that the sketch is obvious on your creation.

A Bugaboo Image must be used on your creation to win this package
Seven (7) Bugaboo Stamps Images

The Kraft Journal - Ugly patterned paper - I found a scrap of BG paper that just...no. I used my Distress Ink blender & Seedless Preserves ink to mute the ick.

Anything Goes at Catch the Bug!

It's the week for Anything Goes at Catch the Bug, and I just had to have a play with this fun image of me in the morning :)

Supplies: Morning Coffee image from Bugaboo Stamps;  sentiment from JJ-coffee to go from Bugaboo Stamps; Spectrum Noir markers; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; Doodlebug Crushed Velvet flock in light pink

After colouring myself in, I added Dimensional Magic to the coffee pot & mug. Once it dried, I added the Crushed Velvet flock to her my robe, because my robe is super fluffy :) I had just the right amount of dark pink glitter paper to form one border - I like having the different colours & widths!

The rules are simple: Create an Anything Goes project and post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps  challenge blog, Catch the Bug,  by 11/7/14 at  6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs –ten ( 10) (using Bugaboo only) seven (7) or four (4), using any image!
New projects only no backlinking please!  Limit 3 projects per follower!
You may use any image on your project to win the Seven or Four-image prizes, but if you have Bugaboo images, we would LOVE to see them! :)
If you don't have any Bugaboo images, be sure to check out this weeks Freebie Friday that is posted in the store!

I'm also entering my card in the following challenges:

Thanks so much for coming by! I'll be back tomorrow with a card for Stella Says Sketch - although we're on our way to Halifax for an overnight anniversary trip. 18 years! And the first time in nearly 4 years that we've gone away without the kids. (Good thing my post is prescheduled...the temptation to not come home is going to be pretty strong!)

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - T is for...

Thanks. For Nothing.

Come on now, surely you knew we'd put a little snark on it at the Snarky Sisters!  I tried mightily to come up with a snarky (or at least funny) thank you card, and nope. It just didn't happen.

Supplies: all stamps from PTI; Mowed Lawn Distress ink; Versamark; clear & white EP; Labels 5 Nesties; Timeless Twine; embroidery floss; vellum scraps

I was looking in the PTI set for a sentiment (which wasn't there, of course) and got the bright idea to stamp the stems as a background. As you can see they aren't quite symmetrical enough to line up, but I call it good enough. The larger leaves are stamped directly on the background, and then I stamped extras on vellum. Distress ink stays wet long enough to emboss easily on vellum - and then I fussy-cut them, and stitched them onto the background over the matching sized leaves.

I may not have been able to bring the snarky this  time, but you are definitely going to laugh out loud at what my sisters have in store for you:

Lee (off this round)

You've got until Friday, November 14th, to join in with us!

And don't forget to stop by and leave our guest designer MAJO some love!

xoxo,
Jessi
