Being up at oh dark thirty has its perks, I guess...it means I was quick on the draw to combine a few challenges and actually *gasp* link up in time!

Supplies: Image from Bugaboo; papers from Doodlebug; Sharpie & Copic markers; classic small circle Nesties

Bugaboo has a Bright & Cheery challenge this week, and Just Us Girls wants us  to make shaker cards - I'm currently addicted so you might see more from me this week :)

Laugh!

To be fair, I'm not really sure what occasion this card would be suitable for...but while I was digging through stamps looking for Easter images, I spotted this guy and the sentiment popped into my head.

Supplies: Imaginisce puffer fish stamp; PSX letter stamps; Palette Noir ink; Distress inks for watercolouring; Paper Smooches cloud dies; googly eyes

Shopping our Stash #242 - In a Galaxy Far, Far Away....

Ohhhhh how I love this week's challenge at Shopping our Stash! Inspired by outer space - Star Wars, aliens, the night sky....you get the idea :)

Supplies: Space ship, alien, and stars from Jane's Doodles; sentiment from Stampendous; Spectrum Noir markers; Diamond stickles; Dreamweaver stencil paste & unknown stencil; home made pearl shimmer spray; Distress inks in Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire, and Mermaid Lagoon; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; googly eye

I began with a dipped ink background, which I then sponged over with the same inks and added the stencil paste, and then stamped the stars once that had dried. Since the stencil was smaller than the card front you can see how it got a little messy - but that works for me :) Once everything was dry I spritzed with shimmer.

Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday March 14 to come play!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #342 - DRS Designs!

Good morning! I'm the sketcher this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches, and as happens whenever that's the case I'm so impressed by how a simple layout can result in such a great variety of unique cards. Wait until you see what the DT came up with! DRS Designs is our sponsor this week, and we all got to work with our choice of images:

Supplies: Josephine the Bold image from DRS Designs;  Sharpie & Spectrum Noir markers; various scraps & bits of designer papers (MME mostly); Paper Smooches sentiment; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; black Wink of Stella pen; Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery supplies

Just a wee bit of sparkle on the sentiment :)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card that inspired it:

Supplies: all papers from AC; Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery supplies

This challenge will be open until next Sunday, March 13 - hop on over & see what the rest of the team has made!

Catch the Bug Colour Challenge

As soon as I saw the colour palette for this week's Catch the Bug challenge I knew I wanted to colour this Chibi with Balloons!

Supplies: Digi image from Bugaboo; Spectrum Noir & Sharpie markers; Cuttlebug embossing folder; unknown sentiment stamp; Wplus9 banner die; Distress inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Broken China, Spiced Marmalade; 4 colours of embroidery floss; Tim Holtz design ruler

I randomly mixed up the colours of floss while cross-stitching - which I love how it looks, but do not advise unless you are well absorbed in a show on Netflix and not paying attention to how much longer it takes, lol. (Season 3 of Wentworth.....whoa!!!)

Here's the colour palette:

Shopping our Stash #241 - WHITE OUT!

Ahhhh that sounds like a wintry challenge doesn't it? Most of us in the Northern Hemisphere have had enough of the white stuff though, so the challenge at Shopping our Stash this week is to use NO white cardstock. This seemed easy peasy....until I got going and kept adding white panels to every.dang.card. Really, brain? *sigh*

I made it work, though, and love how it turned out:

Supplies: Prima chipboard; Dylusions & Tim Holtz stencils; Dreamweaver crackle paste; Broken China and Tattered Rose distress inks; banner die from Wplus9; sentiment from Paper Smooches; button & fabric from stash

The fabric began about 4x that size, and I treated it with my heat fun until it had the look I wanted. The background was one of those 'oh shoot, I wrecked it' projects - the blue felt like a mistake at first, but adding the rose worked. Tis true, mixed media isn't finished until you're happy with it, just keep going :)

Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday March 7 to come play!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #341 - Bugaboo Stamps!

We have a really fun sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches - lots of fun details to play with. Bugaboo Stamps is returning as a spectacular sponsor, and the team chose some really fun images to play with.

Supplies: Girlz Coffee digi from Bugaboo Stamps; 'blah blah' stamp from Rubber Dance; 'coffee' and coffee cups from Waltzingmouse Stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Picked Raspberry Distress ink; Kraft ink from PTI; Spectrum Noir & Sharpie markers; 1" circle punch; paper from MME

The 'tabs' on the triple background panels were a challenge for me - although I adhered them out of order (gah) I did it by taping the three panels together with washi tape, and then punching with a small circle punch.

Here's the sketch - Debbie's the sketch artist this week!

This challenge will be open until next Sunday, March 6 - hop on over & see what the rest of the team has made!
