Featured Itty Bitty Little Yellow Polka Dot Bikini at Little Red Wagon for this card
Saturday Shout-Out at Shopping our Stash for this card
And guess what? Today I have entries for both of their current challenges all photographed & ready to go. At Shopping our Stash, challenge #35 is Across the Border - use a border punch or create a border detail. In my case, I used some long-neglected Doodlebug border die-cuts, as well as an ancient carousel from Jolee's that I've been hoarding for too long to remember. I think we lived in this house already?
Supplies: striped paper from Basic Grey "Life of the Party;" kraft paper from stash; border strips (wavy red) from Doodlebug; carousel from Jolee's |
This week at Little Red Wagon, challenge #115 is to use two different ribbons on your card - and guess what I did? I learned how to use my Bow-Easy, almost a year after buying it. Emily sent me the link to an awesome picture tutorial that finally allowed me to see where I'd been going wrong on my previous tries. The tutorial is by Mylene Hillam, and is located here.
Supplies: papers all from Echo Park "For the Record;" Tonic edge distresser; ribbons from Offray; Labels 4 Nesties; stamp from Studio G, Versamark, Fired Brick distress ink & clear EP |

Congratulations on being featured Jessi, your quilling cards are always spectacular. Love your new cards too. perfect bows I would say!!!
ReplyDeleteLove how you left the ends of your bows long!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing with us at LRW!
Two super cards Jessi, that carousel is definitely better on a card rather than in the packet :)
ReplyDeleteI have a bow easy and found a video tutorial on Pinterest this morning which I pinned on my Craft Ideas boards as it has an extra step when tightening the bow...I never find they lay very straight you see and hoping this will help :)

Both of your cards are wonderful Jessi! I LOVE the carousel, it's gorgeous, I'm glad you used it! I don't use heaps of ribbons on my cards but really do like my bow easy!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these cards are so sweet, Jessi! I'm so glad that the Bow Easy tutorial helped--yours looks spectacular on the second card. And I love the carousel on the first. So glad that you finally used that fun sticker on a fun card!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! Love the cheerful colors, makes me happy this Monday morning, thanks! :-D
ReplyDeleteOh, you can surely go and see the movie The Help, one of my friends and me also read the book and loved it and we both thought that the movie was made in the right way, compared with the book. We loved it!!!
Hugs & happy day to you!

ReplyDeleteLove how you used a border punch and created a border detail with that fabulous paper. And I agree with Jenny - the carousel looks way better on the card than in the packet!
Fabulous ribbon and I like he gingham and polka dots together. I'd been wondering if those Bow-Easy things were worth it. May have to snag one...
