Tuesday Morning Sketches #153

EEEEEEK! Look at this :)

Sketches? All the time? Yup. I find it bizarre and so fun that I've gone from really hating sketches (I was going to sugar coat that, but it's true) to actually looking forward to seeing new ones & how I can play with them. The team over at Tuesday Morning Sketches is largely responsible for that, and when they had their DT call I threw my hat in the ring because, well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Colour me surprised when they asked me to join them - along with some other very talented women. I'm not saying WHO, because you'll have to go check out the announcement post over at TMS  to see :) I'm pretty excited to accept this new challenge creatively, and I hope I can do it justice!

This week's sketch is circular - which doesn't mean you need to make a circular card, although I did. Our sponsor is Meljen's Designs:
Meljen's Designs

Meljen's offers a selection of freebies to try, as well as over 500 unique designs to choose from.

Here's the sketch for this week:
The linky for Tuesday Morning Sketches is open until Sunday night every week - this sketch is active until Sunday July 8. And here's my card:
Supplies: Image from Meljen's Designs;
watercoloured with Vintage Photo distress ink;
flowers coloured with markers;
\Sakura white souffle gel pen (eyes & nose);
standard & lacy circle Nesties;
crocheted mat by me;
background sponging done with distress inks:
Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Bundled Sage, Tumbled Glass
As always, you can click right on my card to see it full-size.

I used the largest lacy circle Nestabilities die for the card front, and the largest 'standard small' circle Nestie for the 4-colour mat as well as the card attached to the back. Did I remember to take pictures of this? No, of course not. This is one of the cards I was making in a hurry for school staff. To make the four-colour mat, I cut an extra circle from copy paper, folded it in quarters, and cut one quarter out (like a slice of pie). Then I used it as a mask to sponge the different colours, rotating by 90* for each new colour.

I think this might only be the 2nd circle card I've made? Having them for sale means I try to keep them uniform in size (storage purposes, and envelopes!) but this was fun! Head over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog  for all the details, to meet the new DT members, and to play along :)

xoxo,
Jessi
