It's been hot & humid here, and we've all got a massive case of cranky. Rob & I have had headaches for most of the week, the kids have been monstrous, and Abby has rolled in something gross in the backyard for the second time in 3 days. I checked the yard & couldn't find whatever it was after bathing her before 6 am on Friday (not fun!) and although I'm refusing to be the one to give her another bath, it's looking like if I want it done, I'm going to have to give in. She's only slightly less difficult to bathe than the cats ;)
So what do I do when everyone is driving me crazy? Hide in plain sight at my desk. It's so messy over there that I can pass for just more clutter!
First up is my card for this week's little red wagon challenge #144, a girlfriends card. And since you're my girlfriends, and I've already venti'd, this sentiment is perfect :) This card has a great CAS vibe that I'm loving. I rotated my acrylic block for each bean I stamped, and the cup was stamped twice on white paper, once on kraft, so I could pop up the lid & the cozy. This challenge is open until Monday night.
Supplies: papers from Kaisercraft "Madame Boutique;" Stamps from Paper Smooches "Hot Concoctions" (from dear sweet Barbles!) Palette Noir & Old Paper distress inks |
Supplies: papers from Kaisercraft "Madame Boutique;" butterfly diecut from K&Co; lace from Hero Arts; sentiment from MFT; Palette Noir ink & Sakura Stardust pen |
And, finally, a perfect challenge for this gross hot weather - Cool Summer Treats, over at Crafty Creations Challenges. This one is open until Tuesday night. I've gone with ice cream...not that I'm supposed to eat it, but I did indulge earlier this week. I'm only human!
Supplies: everything from the 12x12 collection from MemoryWorks, "Happy Day" |
I guess it's time for me to go & bathe the dog...I have a bad feeling that she's hidden herself away in my bed, and so I guess after the bath it's time for some laundry. (oh boy! Can't wait! lol)
xoxo,
Jessi
Okay, first: I'm still laughing about you being just another piece of clutter. That is SO perfect, and TRUE (in my world, too!)
ReplyDeleteSecond: every time I read your blog I find new challenge blogs to add to my Reader. I officially have so many to do I can never die.
Lastly: I am SO glad I met you! Was it in class? Whatever. God help us if we ever get the chance to get crafty together!
PS: It is also a pet peeve of mine that people make one card then go off to see how many challenges they can enter. It is NOT in the spirit of the challenges. I think it's a way to get comments. (just my opinion)
ReplyDeleteI like to follow the individual challenges, and be inspired by them to make a card. I'll combine a color challenge with a sketch, and if a third challenge says "put a bird on it", I might.
I did break my own rules with the DTGD challenges over on Splitcoast, though. OMGosh, 37 challenges to do in one week! Even then, I did 5 on one card and apologized for it!

Great cards Jessi! I especially like that coffee one... I have a weakness for coffee themed stamps, and CAS too! It's perfect! :) Hope your day improves! If not, hiding in the clutter sounds like a good plan! ;)
ReplyDeletethese are all so sweet, fabulous design...hope you have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful creations my friend! All do different and all so perfect!
ReplyDeleteSo will I read in another post how he bath went? My craft area is a certified train wreck. I have no time to clean up between projects which leads mess on mess!
Sounds like you need back to school a few weeks early! I have just put Ave to bed (after she pooped out in public again!) and the older two are in Radium...yay! Love your creations (esp. the first one...woo hoo on CAS!) and I totally agree with that overlinking thing!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your post! And so understand how you feel! Beautiful card for IBSIC! Thank you so much for playing! I hope the bath went well. :) Hugs, Joanna
