Blue cupcakes completely inspired this card - although of course there isn't a cupcake to be seen. Papercraft Star has a fabulous picture for inspiration this week - and right away I thought of using it as a sketch:
Loosely, of course. I liked the variety of blues in the picture, and I first tried to replicate that with stamps & ink, and then punching out 1" circles. That was a fail. Plan B involved patterned paper and was successful:
Supplies: papers from MME; 1" circle punch; scrap vellum; Versamark; Stampendous Sapphire EP; Paper Smooches sentiment; buttons from stash
The Sapphire EP has a metallic sheen to it that I really like. I should use it more often! I like this concept for using up smaller scraps of paper - you may see this layout again & again.

This IS a great way to use up scraps. I LOVE the shiny blue...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou have lovely scrap papers, Jessi! Great mix of pp of all the blues.
ReplyDeleteWell, blue is my very favorite card so I love this card!!! I'd love it even if it was in pink though - great way to mix up that scrap paper!

ReplyDeleteGreat photo interpretation. I love your use of circles and beautiful embossing on vellum. Terrific card!
ReplyDeleteSuch a smart way to interpret the photo inspiration. Not a bad idea to use the buttons to hide the adhesive on the vellum, either. ;)
