Supplies: Flourishes heart daisy stamp; Versamark, Faded Jeans & Peacock Feathers distress inks; Clear embossing powder; Stampin' Up! Watercolor pencils; Dove blender; lace from stash
I don't have many Stampin' Up inks, so I fiddled around until I found a close-to-me match - mixing Faded Jeans & Peacock Feathers distress inks came close to Midnight Muse. I can't even fully describe where I was planning to go with this card, but the things that are definitely different - the orientation (portrait instead of landscape); colouring medium; adding lace (I was going to use fabric); trimmed the panel too close to the heart (measuring error, sigh); no sentiment....once I got the above idea in my head I figured I'd better stop messing around before I decided myself out of it too! lol
This challenge is open until tomorrow :)
I'm also going to toss it in over at Moxie Fab's "General Craft Supplies" challenge - although lace is pretty common on cards, I think it counts :)

This is so pretty Jessi, I love that heart with the daisies, I have not seen that stamp before!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so pretty with that great heart-shaped image and the frilly lace! It actually looks like it was stitched in needlepoint!!
ReplyDeleteThanks too for featuring my Tuesday sketch card on Facebook! You're too kind :)
Girl, I think you are over-thinking this card--it's beautiful! I LOVE the image embossed in blue on the blue cs, the matching trim goes perfectly with the design of the daisies, and I actually like that you trimmed the panel close to the image. If you hadn't told on yourself, no one would have even thought about it. :)
ReplyDeleteSo so pretty, I adore the added lace borders Jessi!
ReplyDeleteOoooh! This is so pretty Jessi! Where ever you started with this, I love where you ended!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I think it turned out beautiful! Yet, I know what you mean --- what you see in your head sometimes doesn't come out on paper! I want to know what is a Dove blender? (guess where my mind is) I'd say lace counts. You have been rockin' those Moxie Fab challenges! I completely scrapped my card for Moxie Fab. Maybe it will surface somewhere.
