Supplies: Tiddly Inks Flying High digi; Cuttlebug embossing folder; Corner Chomper; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; home-made enamel dots; paper straw, eyelet, twine, seam binding from stash. SPECTRUM NOIR MARKERS:
EB1; FS8,9; PL2, 4; BT2, 4; OR1; CT1,4
Shiny balloons!
I made the background using several of the same markers that I used to colour the image, pressing lighter/harder to vary the size of the dots. This is my current absolute favourite background technique (as you'll see with my Snarky Sisters card in an hour or two).
Here's the sketch from Tiddly Inks: (open until Monday)
(I used the straw in place of the banner)
and the Spectrum Noir background challenge is also open until Monday.

Purples. I need purples. :D I'm glad you added a few more colours, though -- she'd be quite different with purple hair. Really sweet card!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great colour combination! Thanks for playing along at Tiddly Inks Challenge blog.

ReplyDeleteYour coloring has improved 10 fold, my young Padawan! (See what I did there?!) Seriously, your coloring is amazing, Jessi, and I absolutely love your take on that challenge!
ReplyDeleteAdorable!!! Awesome coloring!!! I love how you made the dot background!!!
ReplyDeleteTotal cuteness! Love the shinny balloons!
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy card! Love the colors. I can't imagine this in all purples. I'm glad you allowed other colors to come play too!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not monochromatic, but heaps of fun all the same! I've not tried Spectrums but I hear that they are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love the confetti background. Great colours too. You rocked our sketch, thanks so much for playing at Tiddly Inks. :)
