Supplies: tag stamp from Basic Grey; sentiment from PTI; Evergreen Bough distress ink; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Tattered Angels Route 66 glimmer mist; paper from MME; twine, fiber, gems, button from stash
The tag stamp is NBUS for me - and it needs conditioning, methinks. I tried to fix the patchiness by spraying with a subtle glimmer mist (fail), I tried to use a ribbon for the bow (also fail - no colour matches). Even the diagonal patterned paper pieces aren't parallel to one another, which (fail). Augh. All that said I kind of like the wonkiness. Not really, but I'm willing to live with it ;)

They always say that we are our own worse critics and it is so true...
ReplyDeleteI like your card would never have thought anything about what you said in your description...I thought all the things you point out were done intentionally to make this pretty tag card as uniquine as it is...I think it all goes together very well.
Ditto what JD/Jill said. I think this card rocks, Jessi!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I agree with previous comments too Jessi, your tag look like you designed it to be distressed and I love the fun papers you used. Thank you for joining us for Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteI think your card turned out beautifully!!!!! Everything goes together very, very well! Love it!! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteDeanne :)
Love your design, pp & the sparkly button, Jessi!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you used the patterned paper on the diagonal -super cute! Thanks for joining us this week at Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it when I think of you it's always sitting in an assortment of buttons, it must have been a glitch in the Matrix lol.
ReplyDeleteYes! If there is something I do all the time without thinking about it then the second I have to think about it I can't do it anymore. That's not just with crafting. It is with about everything.... yeah, I'm pathetic that way. I think the card is very nice even if you're down on it!
ReplyDeleteNo, the tag's not patchy, it's... vintage! The wonky diagonals are only noticeable when pointed out, and the trims look just fine. So yeah, just go with it. ;)
ReplyDeleteUhm, reading about your 'fails' and then checking your card out after each one and not really seeing any 'fail'!!! I love the pattern pieces and the i like the 'splotchy' tag, makes it look vintage!!! And the button in the snowflake enter is perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain.... it's difficult to turn out something stunning when the tools down cooperate. Looks like you got the buttons and bow to toe the line. Love the card!
