I've been making quite a few shaker cards lately - I used to use microbeads & confetti for the 'filler', and always found problems with static & just generally avoided them in the summer because of that. Enter sequins and suddenly WOOHOO I'm all over it. Also, these
dip-dyed backgrounds ala Becca seem to really suit the fun of a shaker card. Since
little red wagon is having a shaker card challenge this week I made sure (twist my arm) to make another one:
Supplies: various distress inks for background, Neat & Tangled sequins & sentiment; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; classic small circle Nesties
This one is fairly simple but with that fun splotchy background I didn't want it to be TOO busy.

Love the splotchy background!! it looks super fab as a shaker. I always love these backgrounds but you're right they are really busy. So pairing it with that pretty turquoise was a genius move Madame.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shaker card, great colour choice.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for making a great shaker card - something I've never been able to master! Love the sequins and colorful background!
ReplyDeleteLove how you paired off the splotchy bg with the turquoise colour, Jessie! I found out that by rubbing anti-static bag it helps to solve the problem.
ReplyDeleteGreat shaker card! Good luck in the Little Red Wagon challenge!

That shaker background is so very cool! I shall have to try Becca's dip technique, even though I know mine will just turn into mud. :D Beautiful birthday card.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun birthday shaker!
ReplyDeleteLove that splotchy background and the turquoise panel shows it off perfectly! What a gorgeous shaker card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Jessi!
