Supplies: Papers from Simple Stories; holly leaves & brad from Making Memories; Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery supplies
The most challenging part for me was not to stamp a sentiment - several times I *almost* had a card for this and then whoops. Stamped sentiments count too.
I love these holly leaves & the single brad with three berries - they've been kicking around my stash for a few years. This year I have found zero embellishments for Christmas - I did find bells at the dollar store, but otherwise? No packages of die cuts. No little assortments of odds & ends. Mind you, I'm talking just about brick & mortar stores, but still, NADA. I've been relying heavily on stitching and buttons and sparkle - and stash - but I am frustrated because I'd like to shop locally (which for me is an hour drive in one direction, 45 minutes in the other for the two craft stores nearby). Harumph.
OK, ok, rant over! Go see what the rest of the crew came up with:
Lovely card - I especially like the stitching detail, Jo x
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, love how you did the sentiment. I haven't found anything interesting either Jessi.
ReplyDeleteMore sewing. You have the patience of a saint.
ReplyDeleteAnd what's up with no Christmas bling in the stores?! Weird.
oooooooooooooh! once again you've used the "cross stich highlights" and once again my brain goes, "AHA!!! lauren you MUST do that!!!" & then goldfish like i will forget in 15 seconds. which is a shame b/c this is a fabbbbbbbbbbbbbulous card & i'd love to be able to send one as wonderful as this! ♥
ReplyDeleteFabulous...I did the same thing with a sentiment and then went ack that's stamping LOL
ReplyDeleteLove your stitching!
Love your solution to the "no stamped sentiment" conundrum! Great job! The stitching is definitely an elevating element!

So so awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI always struggle with the 'no stamping' until sometimes I make a card without any stamping and I haven't noticed until I've finished lol. Loving the holly! I don't really have any brick & mortar stores near me, and sometimes you just need to see 'stuff' before you commit, I totally understand, good luck with your search!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I can do this! Even though it always feels a bit like cheating. ;) Your version is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI thought you squeezed 3 separate brads together, but that's ONE brad?! Fabulous! Love your card and the touches of stitching. And WTH about the no embellies to be found?! That must be remedied stat!
ReplyDeleteSweet card! It's nice when the DP does the work for you! (Especially when you're not allowed to do it! LOL)
