The little miss this card is going to just recently had her hair cut short and loves ballerinas - so I found an image that I could give a haircut ;) Since she's brand new to my (enormous) stash of Tiddly Inks I'm popping this in over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun for their first monthly challenge, Try Something New.
The SOS DT made sure to share which book inspired our creations - make sure you do in your post too!
Oh my gosh Jessi this is ADORABLE. fabulous background and super cute image. I too just read Horror/Mystery books and thought they might not be appropriate for a card.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute, Jessi! I like shaker cards (although I have never made one!) I like your background staining, very effective. Little Miss Carmen is going to love this!
ReplyDeleteI am a big crime/mystery fan as well. My personal favorites are P.D. James and Agatha Christi. I read them in between reading the current authors. I will read anything written by Stephen King, even though I know it will peter out in the end. I just finished reading Testament and Younger.

Eeeeee this is so pretty and pink and ballerina-y!
ReplyDeleteLoving the sequins...just perfect!!
LOVE Olivia! And she's a great inspiration for this card. (And I agree, the illustrations in the books are a great tutorial, as well) I think it would have been fun to see a card based on a mystery/crime book... a use for red spray mists? :P (Have you read Pretty Girls?)
ReplyDeletesuperly duperly AWESOMELY fab!!!!!!!! great take on the book challenge, missus! ♥♥♥

Aw... cute card! Yes, children's books seemed easier than adult ones. I'm with you on the mystery thing, not easily translated to a card. Charlotte's Web came to my mind at one point but I didn't know who I could send a card to with a spider and a pig on it.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for entering the Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge and best of luck with your entry.
