Butterflies...

A challenge about butterflies? I had to make time to play. It's over at Our Creative Corner - and it's my first time playing along :) You've got until tomorrow to play along - how can you resist?  Look at this gorgeous inspiration picture:

And I made two cards, both pretty similar:

Supplies: paper from Basic Grey "Out of Print;"
thin, adhesive backed cork;
ivory velvet paper; Spellbinders dies: circle, lacy circle, butterfly;
sentiment from Paper Smooches;
versamark, white EP;
crocheted mat by me

Supplies: paper from Basic Grey "Out of Print;"
green glitter paper - Colorbok;
white velvet paper; Spellbinders dies: circle, lacy circle, butterfly;
sentiment & twine from Paper Smooches;
Palette Noir ink
crocheted mat by me
And why do I love butterflies? They are rare (around here), they are soft, beautiful, and delicate.

About my Picasa troubles...I gave up! I downloaded GIMP and luckily Lisa at dahlhouse designs has a terrific tutorial on how to use it. Sometimes it's best to just admit defeat & move on!

xoxo,
Jessi

  1. These are wonderful! I love your crochet mats - they look beautiful and the cork adds great texture. And, of course, you can nver go wrong with butterflies and pearls.

  2. Two spectacular butterfly cards, Jessi. Love the different textures that you achieved from the various layers. I think those butterflies escaped from my Butterfly Garden!

  11. Your crochet mats are amazing! How elegant do these beauties look showcased by them! Wow!

    I got your email thank you! I will have to try it when I have some breathing / thinking room. Husband away for several days, so that doesn't make it easy with a little one on the go. I just hope it's MAC compatible. You rock thanks for sharing!

  12. What a good idea using the cork! Very cool and natural look. I have to admit though, I'm a glitter girl and that green glitter circle is *fabulous*! Thanks for sharing your creation with us in our little 'corner' of the blogosphere at the OCC!
