Happy Chinese New Year!

When my lovely bloggy pal Emily Leiphart announced that she had put together a Chinese New Year blog hop, I was so excited! I have such vivid memories of celebrating Chinese New Year growing up in Vancouver - probably the most vivid being the Dragon Dance going through Granville Island Market - with the dragon collecting red envelopes from all the business owners ;) Being within a few feet of the dancers & music is a truly unforgettable feast for the eyes and ears.

AND THEN when I discovered that my other lovely bloggy pal Lisa Arana was participating in the hop by designing a digi to share, well, I knew how I had to play along.

Supplies: digi image by Lisa Arana; black & red cardstock; embossing folder by Craft Concepts

I thought the graphic flowers in the embossing folder mimicked fireworks, and of course I wanted to incorporate the colour red in my design. I've printed out the snake graphic twice, and fussy-cut one snake & popped him up on a smidge of foam tape for dimension.

If you would like to play along with a bunch of talented folks (and earn chances at some SERIOUS candy) go check out the linky & details on Emily's blog, Art From the Heart!

xoxo,
Jessi
