Drunken Stampers 123 - Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow!

Do you know what I remember most clearly about watching Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow? The itty-bitty elephants in a bell jar.

In the realm of 'pretend pets that I could never have' a tiny elephant SO tops my list!

All that brings me to the new challenge at Drunken Stampers:

In lieu of teensy elephants I thought I'd give steampunk a whirl. Did I get it? I don't know, but I had fun trying!

Supplies: Tim Holtz metal gears; Crafty Secrets clip art & sentiment; kraft paper & vellum wings from stash; Sakura Stardust glitter pen

Tim Holtz is a good start for steampunky stuff - and so many of the images I saw had wings on people that I knew what I wanted to go with. This 'electric corset' seems up the right alley too. The vellum wings were fussy-cut from a patterned sheet - lots of different kinds of wings on it, but no bodies. I imagine it was meant for projects like this. I've used a craft knife to cut a slit along each woman's back, and tucked the folded wings in to get them into resting positions. And then glittered them:

Our linky will be open until next Friday night, April 19th. Check out what the rest of the Midnight Margaritas made:

Jessi

  9. I think you nailed steampunk! Fantastic card! I'm not sure what an electric corset would be, but if it zaps man hands, then it might be worth it. Does it come in panties too? :o)
