Catch the Naughty Bug!

This has been a tough week. And I just deleted 3 starts-to-telling-you, lol. We had to find a new home for Mimi, because the boys were not adapting well. My husband & I had fallen in love with her, but the boys were having daily meltdowns. It was a heartrending decision to give her up, and we'd determined NOT to send her to a shelter but to re-home her privately. After nearly 2 months I'd given up on it, really, and then the perfect home came along. She's settling in really well, and is in a beautiful home with someone who loves her. After only a few days it's very obvious that we made the best decision for the kids, but it still sucks.

We'll always have goofy memories of her - and next week I'll have an entire kitchen floor again.

Anyhow, onto my card - this one is for two challenges, the Bingo challenge at Catch the Bug, and the Mixed Media challenge at Naughty or Nice.

Supplies: Bugaboo Image & sentiment; Spectrum Noir markers; Dreamweaver embossing paste; stencil from Wal-Mart; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; AC blue glitter

Immediately after removing the stencil I added glitter - after it dried a lot of the glitter decided not to stay, but I like how it turned out & actually brushed off as much as I could to enhance the sorta distressed glitter look.  Of course, Stella is glossed up :)

I've used the last vertical row in the Bingo - blue, no designer paper, and texture.

I played with quite a few stencils & glitter while creating this background, so I just might be back with a nicer entry for Naughty or Nice :)

xoxo,
Jessi

  1. Such a hard decision to re-home a pet...but knowing that she is going to a loving home and it's better for the dudes in the long run makes it more comforting.
Love the card, that Stella is almost as naughty as Edna, always getting into trouble!

  3. First, Congrats on your win at Bugaboo for the 3 month guest designer spot!

Second, I want to say it can definitely be a challenge adjusting to a new pet and sometimes it's just not the right fit. I admire you for doing the right thing for Mimi.

Third, your card is awesome! I love the texture with and shimmer you added.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. I can only imagine the heartbreak of having to find a good home for Mimi, but we do what we have to do and somehow get through it. You can rest easy knowing she's being loved and cared for.
Fun card with all the sparkle and gloss, and I'm in line waiting for my drink too ;) (just not sitting in the glass)

  8. It basically comes down to what's best for the boys and what's best for Mimi. That was a hard decision to re-home her, but it sounds like you found her a great home. You can feel better about that. ☺ Your card is awesome as always, Jessi! Love the glittery embossing, and you can't go wrong with Stella! LOL!
BTW! Congrats to you - this card won you some more Bugaboo goodies!! YAY!

  10. So sad about Mimi, but I think you did the best thing, for all of you.

How did I not have this challenge on my list of challenges-to-maybe-do-but-probably-not? And I love Stella!!!

  12. Did Mimi eat the kitchen floor?! Oh my. It is hard to rehome a pet but you know what the right decision was, tough as it is.

Fun card! I have that same belief. It conflicts with the no alcohol policy at work though. bummer!
