Shopping our Stash #217 - Put a Bird on it!

It can't be more straightforward than this week's Shopping our Stash challenge - get your birds out! I used a Penny Black sticker and dressed it up with some French knots:

Supplies: Penny Black sticker; Reverse Confetti sentiment; Dusty Concord distress ink; MME paper; embroidery supplies

I used the grid design & the sticker elements as guidelines for the stitching - love how it makes the sticker design pop.

C'mon and shake a tail feather with us!

On a personal note, I know the blog has been super quiet - and I've not been around to comment much. The boys are struggling with depression again, and we're in the middle of adjusting their medications. Again. It feels like every time we get them settled and doing well, they grow and then BOOM it takes time to get back in to see the psychiatrist & adjust their dosages. A teacher friend asked me if I was looking forward to school starting and I realized when she asked - I've had two six-hour breaks this summer, total. No wonder I'm overwhelmed! Two more days and then the 'adjusting to school' drama starts - but at least I'll get a few hours a day to recuperate, lol!

xoxo,
Jessi

  14. It's always something, isn't it? :( Hope things start to settle a bit soon. And amidst all this, you still create such awesomeness! What a smart idea to add the embroidery to the sticker to kick it up another notch.
