Messy fun!

Last week when I was playing with mists & water & distress inks, I used a sheet to blot my super-soaked cardstock, and I decided to play with it: this is a smooth white cardstock, and it picked up the texture as well as the colour!

Supplies: stamps from Paper Smooches; Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Tumbled Glass distress inks; Memento Grey Flannel ink; Turquoise Blue Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist; We R Memory Keepers washi tape; misc. gems; Corner Chomper

Getting messy is an acquired taste during crafting, but I think I'll keep doing it - maybe a little colour mixing? Things could get crazy!

Riley had his follow-up dentist appointment today, for a filling. We are very lucky to have an incredible dentist less than 5 minutes' walk from our house. Not only did she give Riley a complete tool tour last week, but she was gentle & patient with him today. We were in & out of the building in less than half an hour, with no pain medication and NO PAIN! She's a magician, I swear. Now to console the poor kid who can't have candy for 24 hours...the way they carry on about that you'd think I don't feed them anything but!

xoxo,
Jessi

  1. I love those kinds of cards that just come organically without tons of stress or preparation:) Both the cards have such a dreamy vibe. Very cool:)

Glad to hear the dentist visit went well with Riley! I'm a denta-phobe (Army dentists growing up will do that to a person), so I know how important that is. Hopefully he'll get back to the candy soon!

  2. So Riley's hope that you'd be utterly snowed in didn't pan out for him? Oh well, at least it's over, except for the candy fast. :P
These look SO cool! If you tried, you probably couldn't get these backgrounds to turn out so perfectly!

  5. What Lindsey said - you wouldn't get that pattern if you tried! Love how it came out especially all the texture! Very cool.

Big phew that the dentist trip went well although I feel for Riley's distress at the no candy for 24 hours rule! How cruel!!

  13. Love the result of your inking experiment.... looks like crashing waves to me :0)
Great news about the dentist.... ours is good with James too.
James almost sweet talks him into the chair himself and that would be dangerous!!
