Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - Q is for...

Quilts! (Also known as Jessi cheating to find something for the letter Q, and intending that you actually do paper piecing on your project, not make a quilt lol) The Sisterhood has some awesome stuff to share with you once again - here's my uber-simple take:

Supplies: Sentiment from From the Heart; cat stamp from Paper Smooches; scraps of cardstock; googly eyes

I'd printed out this sentiment rather larger than I'd intended, and that limited what I could do with it. Finally after a couple months lingering in my UFO pile I got around to an idea.

Check out the amazing Sisterhood's creations - and extend a warm welcome to our three newly adopted designers:

And this week's guest designer, ABZAPPEL!

Shopping our Stash #249 - Think Ink!

This week at Shopping our Stash we want to see you stretch your creativity by using LOTS of ink - but no colouring. I thought this challenge was perfect for using a dipped ink background (like I need encouragement for that, lol)

Supplies: Distress inks in Spiced Marmalade & Ripe Persimmon; Versamark & clear EP; stamps from Waltzingmouse; buttons from stash

On top of the dipped background I used Ripe Persimmon & Versamark to emboss the big beautiful sentiment, and then accented with buttons well, because I could :)

Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday May 2 to come play!

Shopping our Stash #248 - Chip Off the Old Block

This week at Shopping our Stash we'd like you to dust off that chipboard you've been hoarding (c'mon, we're ALL guilty of that!) and use it!

Supplies: Wellll....the papers are scraps from MME. Everything else is dusty stash!

I do love the sense of HA I get when I finally use something I've been hoarding :)

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - E is for....

One of everybody's favourite techniques (want to impress someone? lol so punny - show them heat embossing. AMIRITE???) The Sistahs want to see you play with embossing techniques this time around! I decided to play with an old favourite - faux faux patina.

Oooooh, shiny!

Supplies: Unity stamp; Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade distress inks; Versamark, Clear, Kaleidoscope, and Pirate Gold EP; Cuttlebug embossing folder; bling from stash

Check out the amazing Sisterhood's creations:

Shopping our Stash #247 - You stamped with WHAAAA?

This is a super fun and unique challenge this week at Shopping our Stash - stamp with something not intended for stamping :) I tried a number of things - felt flower, sea urchin, bottom of a banana, cd case...and finally went with the lid of a nail polish bottle!

Supplies: Lil INkers sentiment and sun/cloud dies; Memory Box 'splat' die; distress inks; Versamark, clear EP, Palette Noir ink

I stamped the background onto watercolour paper and then lightly brushed with my water brush so as not to eliminate the double circles from stamping.

So what other crazy things did we stamp with? Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday April 18 to come play!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #347 -Lacy Sunshine Stamps!

We've got a great new sponsor this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches - Lacy Sunshine Stamps!  This company is new to me but I know I'll be drooling over their choices again. I chose to work with Mermella Steampunk Siren for my card.

Supplies: Mermella Steampunk Siren from Lacy Sunshine Stamps; Spectrum Noir markers; Sakura Stardust glitter pen; Cuttlebug embossing folder; classic small circle Nesties; scraps & bits and bobs

Here's our great sketch by Debbie:

Shopping our Stash #246 - April Fools!

This week at Shopping our Stash we want you to fool us - a little ;) Use a faux technique, or include a hidden element on your card. I went with my favourite faux technique, faux tiles:

Supplies: Stamp from Hero Arts; Palette Noir ink; Distress inks for watercolouring; UTEE and Versamark; trims from stash

I used 3 layers of UTEE to get nice thick tiles, and then crackled them just a little bit before adhering them to the card.

Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday April 11 to come play!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #346 - A Day for Daisies!

Good morning! Slowly getting back on track after being sick - feels good to at least get my design team cards finished, even if my bathroom still needs cleaning ;) This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a new sponsor joining us - A Day for Daisies!

Supplies: Stamp from Stamplorations; Versamark & white EP; Tattered Rose distress ink; Cuttlebug embossing folder; lace, button, and seam binding from stash

After heat & dry embossing I lightly sponged with the Tattered Rose ink to give a bit more definition to the card :)

Here's the sketch:

This challenge will be open until next Sunday, April 10 - hop on over & see what the rest of the team has made!
