YCU #5 - CAS? Yikes!

You know that CAS is not my go-to style, right? It's haaaaaaard. (you must read that in your head as a super whiny teenage voice.)

But I wanted to participate in the latest Young Crafters Unite challenge, so I persevered. This is the card that earlier in the week I said had taken me 3 days and I wasn't happy with it. Final count was four days.

Supplies: paper from DCWV "Mariposa Mat Stack;"
tulips stamp from PSX; London Fog Memento ink;
sentiment stamp from Inkadinkado;
coloured with Prismacolor pencils & Dove blender
Still not too happy with it - I had a hard time shading the purple pencils, and the London Fog ink was too light for the main image. Whatever. It's a simple, single-layer card that took me more time than some of the most complicated quilling designs I've done. Go figure.

xoxo,
Jessi

I like the subtleness of the London Fog and pretty purple tulips! For all your stress, it's a great card Jessi!

Oh, gosh, I am amazed at your perseverance! I would have given up after the 2nd day. Those tulips are gorgeous--and I think that your coloring is perfect for image style! So no beating yourself up about this, 'K? 'K!! And bonus--I linked up to the challenge just in time!

That was a great idea to use London Fog ink instead of black. I think the shading and coloring turned out gorgeous!!

Hey, if you're looking for another grey, I did find Fresh Ink (Impress Stamps)...it's a more true grey and a little darker than London Fog. I'm still on my quest to find the perfect grey ink, though ;)

Your comment made me LOL! Thanks!

Good for you for not giving up! Personally, I think it paid off:). It's hard to go outside of your comfort zone, but who wants to make the same card over and over, right?

I love, love, love the purple/grey combo you used on this card! Lovely coloring too!

Take care!
