Sun? Sounds like fun!

Jen, my kind & talented blog pal, is on the design team for a brand new challenge: CASology. Each week we'll be prompted with a single word. Now, you KNOW I'm not generally a Clean and Simple kind of girl, but I like to play around & learn new things, so I gave it a shot.
Supplies: orange cardstock, yellow & white buttons from stash;
heart button from Dress it Up;
sun stamp from Imaginisce;
sentiment from Studio G;
Palette Noir ink; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

Click it to see full-size - SHINY!
OK, so, there's a lot going on here. I don't know that it's really CAS, but it's a process, right?

I stamped & coloured the sun & sentiment, and then used a toothpick to carefully paint the Dimensional Magic on the sun & inside the letters. When it was dry, I was a little stumped. I knew I wanted to stay with no patterned paper (and if you know me, you know how painful that was!). Rather than cut out the image & adding layers, I decided to create a button frame so that I could keep the look of the white space. At the last minute I thought the heart button would add just the right pop of red - and it creates a visual triangle with the heart-dotted 'i' and the bottom of the word 'sunshine', which is coloured with a red/orange/yellow gradient.

Remember, I've had lots of Benadryl, so forgive me for not explaining too clearly!

Here's this week's cue card- you have until Sunday at noon to link up your creation inspired by this:

Take a look & see how many awesome creations are already linked up - more than 50, and this is their first week! Woohoo!
xoxo,
Jessi

I am not much of a CAS girl either. White space scares me! Ha! Every now and then I go CAS, but it's my nature to pile it on.

This is fantastic! I love the darling sun and sentiment, and I of course love all the buttons! Sure made me smile!!!

First you don't do sketches and you blow them out of the water. Then you don't do CAS and you come up with this! I love it! The Dimensional Magic on the sun's rays are awesome (that is some serious patience, girl) and the heart button really is the perfect finishing touch. So glad you played along with us!!! (And thanks for the shout-out!)
