Doodle Pantry Peacock

This card turned out to be fairly simple - once I had the peacock all gussied up, it just didn't feel like playing with a sentiment or patterned paper. It wanted to be the star!

Supplies: pre-coloured peacock digi stamp from Doodle Pantry; classic small & lacy circle Nesties; crochet mat by me; Liquid Pearls in Avocado & blue; Tumbled Glass distress stickles; yellow glitter glue

Since I didn't have the precise colours to match the green, I used a piece of plastic packaging to mix together a small amount of Avocado LP and yellow glitter glue, and then applied with a toothpick. The blue dots on the tail are 'pure' blue LP, and the details on the wing & cheeks were done by mixing together the blue LP & stickles & applying with a toothpick. It had the rather odd effect of dulling the sparkle, but I think the overall look is neat!

I'm fairly certain this is also my first time using the partial die-cutting technique - perhaps I'll get brave enough to try it again :)

xoxo,
Jessi

This is such a beautiful idea. LOVE the crocheted circle and the gems are so great on this "peacock" birdie. Thanks for playing the Doodle Pantry Challenge and for using a DP image.

I'm so glad you let the peacock shine! Your multi coloured crochet mat is the perfect frame for him and I am impressed with your LP/Stickles experiments! I don't think it would have ever crossed my mind to blend them...

WOW. You made the right decision to let this sweet peacock shine. Nicely done! And the variegated crocheted mat is the perfect backdrop.

Super sweet peacock, I love you made "him" the focal point of the card on that awesome mat. Did you know female peacocks done even look at the feathers when the males are doing their thing they are looking at his feet and legs. just saw that on tv the other day lol.

Just beautiful Jessi - just love your crocheting!!! I need to try more of that partial die cutting too - tricky but so beautiful in the end!

Nice job MacGyvering the LP and glitter glue to what you needed! Your coloring is soooo awesome on this card, Jessi! And WTG using the partial die cutting. I've tried that once, with disastrous results (mostly because I was winging it. Koff) I am loving that multicolored mat! Love love love!

I love the fiber edges... crocheting? But they don't detract from your glimmery peacock at all. Great card!

Hi Friend. It has been so long since I have been here that I should hang my head in shame. Sorry, but life seems to be filled with so many fun but crazy moments. But you know that too right. Lol. Love that you played around with our challenge over at Doodle Pantry this time around and I want to say that your card is truly a beauty and the way that you used that crocheted doily is amazing. Your embellishment of the feathers on this guy is truly outstanding. You rocked this challenge and so happy that you played with it. Take care sweetie. Hugs.
