Happy Friday! It's Allison's week as hostess at Playing in Paradise, and that means SKETCH TIME! My card is one that I created during last week's mojo-return blitz, and I really love how it turned out. Here's the sketch:
And my card:
Supplies: Victorian embossing folder from Cuttlebug; sentiment sticker from Doodlebug; twine from Paper Smooches; butterflies from Hero Arts; Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold Distress inks; Inksentials blending tool & foam; Bow Easy
The multi-loop bow is made by following a super-detailed tutorial by my pal Emily - seriously, you will find them addictive!
This challenge will be open until next Thursday, February 7th. To add your NEW project to the linky & see what the rest of the team has created, click on over to the Scrapbooker's Paradise blog, and check out the DT on their blogs too:
Riley's off to see a physiotherapist today - nothing urgent, just getting some paperwork sorted for the school and some details about alternative exercises for gym class. He was born with an incomplete rectus abdominis, which was mentioned shortly after he was born, and then never again. He had other health problems as a toddler and then autism, of course, so we attributed everything to one of these other things...turns out HEY, that muscle does a lot. Like helps you hold your urine, for example. Helps you sit up. ANYWAY. This will cross some t's and dot some i's so the poor kid can stop getting in trouble in gym class for things that are physically impossible for him to do.
And the whole reason why I started to tell you this? I need to do a better job of explaining what new appointments are for/who they're with. Last night, Riley said he didn't want to go, and that he was nervous. When I asked him why, he said:
"Because I don't know what the psycho therapist is going to make me do."
Right on. I'd worry too, if I had to go see a psycho therapist!
Anyway, hope that made you giggle :) I'll be back bright & early tomorrow morning with some very exciting news - stay tuned!
xoxo,
Jessi

A psycho therapist! Eeeek!! I had a c-section, so I had a month of no abs - did you know you also use them to sneeze, oh - and throw up. Lots of fun:(. Hopefully the apt helps & they can modify the class to make it a positive experience.
I love your bright, springy card and your take on the sketch. Beautiful embossing and gorgeous butterflies.
Hugs, Dawn
Aww... your butterflies are beautifully colored, Jessi!

What a lovely pick you up card! Growing up with too much 70's mustard spoiled me on yellow for awhile, but now I can't get enough of it! Beautiful card!
Good luck to Riley! I don't blame him one bit for being a bit anxious. I'm sure I'd be too! Keep on keeping on dearie:)
Hugs!
I agree with Riley!! I wouldn't want to go to a psycho therapist either!!
Your card is gorgeous!! I love the embossing and those butterflies!!
Poor Riley...I would be scared too. I hope everything went ok :) Love your card. I saw it over at PIP and it's my fave of the bunch! I struggled over the sketch, but your butterflies helped make sense of it for me. Been makin cards for a lil bit now, and sketches still dupe me at times! lol
Very springy card! Such happy and bright butterflies! Definitely a mood booster!
Hope things go well for Riley. I hope you wrote down his comment to save for giggles in years to come!
I think I could use a physiotherapist after my abdominal surgeries, maybe a psycho therapist too!
so beautiful! Hilarious story... I would love to know what exercises a 'psycho' therapist would make me do to lol!
But wait... I think I might be seeing a psycho therapist right now! :P
Such a pretty card; makes me think I might have to try this sketch!
The papers are so gorgeous and looks amazing against the white embossed background! Love your approach to the sketch!
Aww...poor Riley! Hope the appt went well! It did make me giggle!
Love how you shaded the butterflies - it really makes them pop!
Poor Riley! He's totally right to fear those Psycho Therapists!! Hope the sessions are helpful and not nervous inducing in the future!
