Cute Crooked Sketch!

Ever make a card and think to yourself "THIS. This is why I love making cards!" That was me with this card - I really love how it turned out. I used the second Crooked Stamper sketch (again) and since this is such a cute image I'm entering over at little red wagon as well.

Supplies: image from Tiddly Inks; sentiment from Pink Cat Studio; 1.5" circle punch; Spectrum Noir markers; Mowed Lawn, Broken China, and Mustard Seed distress inks; Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery supplies

Making the sentiment into the sun wasn't planned but that's what made me fall in love with this card. I sponged each panel with the appropriate colour of ink to suggest the scene, and used my design ruler to pierce the sun's rays & guidelines for adding cross stitching (which would appear to be my latest crafty addiction). At this rate I may use the embroidery thread from my cross-stitching days (20 years ago) by the time I'm 50!

xoxo,
Jessi

This is absolutely adorable, Jessi! All the sponging on the sides with the details of the cross-stitches makes this card unique and not to mention the sun!

That sun is truly inspired - I can see why you love it! :) And the way you colored the edges and used the same color thread is so fun! Thanks for playing my sketch challenge again!

Such a sweet card! Might just have to steal the sun idea, but it won't be stitched rays for me. :D Great colouring and sponging, too.

WOW Jessi, this is just precious and so beautiful! If I send my cards to you, would you stitch them for me in your spare time and send them back? ROFL!! I LOVE all the great cross stitching you do on your cards - it looks amazing!!

EEEEeeee! This is sooooooo beyond cute! It's cuteness overload!! And WOW - every time I see your stitchwork it makes me jealous that I will never be able to do that. Straight lines and I don't get along, so when you insert sharp objects and straight lines, it's a recipe for disaster. I love how the stitchwork isn't all one straight line - it's a super cool effect.

All that yummy thread on this card! So fun! That greeting has the song from the musical Chicago stuck in my head now.

I better jump on that wagon as I have enough floss from my cross-stitching days to last until I'm 100 (since I'm already way over 50--LOL!) This is one fabulous card, Jessi!
