Well, like I hinted in yesterday's post, I have another Faux Patina card to show you...actually, two. I am LOVING getting inky & messy lately! And the Faux Patina technique is especially perfect for this week's challenge at Shopping Our Stash - we want you to emboss twice. Use 2 different powders. Use 2 different folders. Use one of each - or be a keener like me and use more than 2. Whatever floats yer boat :)
(This post links up to the Faux Patina tutorial & describes my own take on how to do it)
Supplies: gold mirror cardstock; vellum; Versamark; Crafts-Too embossing folder; leaf stamp from Jane's Doodles; sentiment stamp from Paper Smooches; Stampendous Embossing Powder in Pirate Gold and Carnelian; Distress inks in Wild Honey, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Fired Brick
The sentiment & leaf were stamped in Versamark, and then the different powders carefully added (tapping off the excess in between).
Supplies: Spellbinders butterfly dies; vellum; clear rhinestones; Cuttlebug embossing folder; Stampendous Embossing Powders in Silver Tinsel and Frantage Shabby Blue; Versamark; Distress inks in Shaded Lilac, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, and Worn Lipstick
I found this technique perfect for using the Shabby embossing powder, because it's SUPPOSED to be imprecise. The silver tinsel one too - in general I find those harder to use, so I know there will be a number of sparkly Christmas cards using this technique coming up.
Come & play along with this challenge until next Monday,October 14th - hop on by & leave the rest of my teamies some love!
I should be back later today with a monkey card for a challenge closing today - talk about your last-minute Lucy!
xoxo,
Jessi

Awesome cards I would like to try that technique. Messy you say? But well worth it.
Sorry, I would have commented sooner but I was lost in Blogeration. That's a very cool technique! I think Mel McCarthy did something similar a year or two ago, and I love it. I also have no patience for it. Looks nice on YOUR cards, though. :)
Gorgeous texture and shine Jessi! Hey congrats on your name drawn at Friends with Flair~yay for goodies! ;)
Oh WOW!!!! This is totally fabulous, Jessi. Love the patina action you've got going on.... so luxurious! Thanks for sharing.
