OH EM GEE, the Drunken Stampers are back!

The beginning of the new year is always a rough thing for a Drunken Stamper, but we're all sobered up (sorta) and refreshed (kinda) and rejuvenated (hahahahahaha) and ready to get back at it! To kick off the new term, we're having an Anything Goes challenge - so I went with a purple mermaid. I know, not a fairy. But still!

Also, I've noted that yes, I really need to find some other purple paper, because this Memory Box stuff is pretty but getting old.

Supplies: Mermaid stamp from Sweet Pea stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Bic & Spectrum Noir markers; Martha Stewart fine crystal glitter; Sakura Stardust glitter pen; rhinestones from Dollarama

OOOOOOH, SPARKLY!

Seriously, I cannot love these images enough! So fun to colour :)

So, who's sharing projects today? Go check 'em out, and link up with your project by next Friday, February 7th!

Drunken Stampers #157 - Happy New Year!

Better late to the party than not to show up at all...being without internet last week I missed sharing my card for the current Drunken Stampers challenge, but I thought it would work well as a reminder post (ha, put lipstick on that pig why don't I? I MEANT to be late!)

Supplies: Stamps from PTI; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Brushed Corduroy distress ink; Prima clocks; papers from DCWV; Sizzix labels die; Tsukineko copper Pssst spray

Oooh, shiny! Spraying mist on at the last minute is a truly nerve-wracking experience, lemme tell ya.

Designers from both teams are playing along this time around - hop on over & leave them some love!

Drunken Stampers #155 - Thing - Embossing!

*screams* Christmas is four days away! Time for a new Drunken Stampers challenge, and this week's "thing" is EMBOSSING.
155 embossing

You've got to be getting tired of seeing it, but I've made another card with my faux Faux Patina background:

Supplies: digi stamps from The Alley Way Stamps; classic small circle Nesties; liquid pearls; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; Paper Smooches twine; heaven only knows what inks, etc.

I wasn't ACTUALLY drunk when I made this, but the background was made long before the card, so I have no recollection of what inks & mists I used. I'm thinking yellow, green, and blue. lol

Should you get time to create during this hectic week, come play with us up until next Friday night, December 27th. And don't forget to go see what my fellow Yellow Canaries have created for you:

Drunken Stampers #153 - Person: SANTA!!

It's the perfect time of year for the Drunken Stampers to celebrate THIS person we all know & love!

DS153

I couldn't help but get a little sassy with my card - as soon as I got this stamp set, I knew I'd have to pair Santa with something weird sentiment-wise.

Supplies: stamps from Paper Smooches; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Bic Markers; green paper from Simple Stories; red paper from Bo Bunny; Stampendous fun flock; classic small circle Nesties

Santa's trim is decked out with Fun Flock. Pretty straightforward card...but I still giggle every time I look at it :)

Come play with us up until next Friday night, December 13th. And don't forget to go see what my fellow Yellow Canaries have created for you:

Drunken Stampers #151: Place - DINER!

This week's Drunken Stampers challenge is back to PLACE - and we want to see you create something inspired by a diner or food!

I was initially stumped, but then I spotted my Hot Concoctions set from Paper Smooches, and I thought 'hey, what about sitting nursing a cup of coffee in a diner for hours?' And then it took a bit of a left turn, but hey, that's how I roll:

Supplies: Paper Smooches stamps; papers from Basic Grey; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Versamark; Stampendous Moonstone EP; Tumbled Glass distress ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Sakura Stardust glitter pen; classic small circles & Labels 5 Nesties; Liquid Applique; googly eyes

I masked the cup to add the saucer, and added the little cookies. (So cute!) The swirls, words, and cookies have Stardust pen on them - with the cookies I coloured them in lightly & then smudged with my finger to get the shimmer effect.

Come play with us up until next Friday night, November 29th. And don't forget to go see what my fellow Yellow Canaries have created for you:

Drunken Stampers #149 - Thing - Chipboard

I made my first card for today's Drunken Stampers challenge to use chipboard, and then I thought I would challenge myself to use the same Christmas-themed package of printed chipboard to make a non-holiday card. (pats self on back)

DS149

Supplies: paper & chipboard from Prima; Webster's Pages lace; Liquid Pearls

I just doodled with the Liquid Pearls around the elements on the patterned paper, and added a little bit to the lace. Ta-da!

Supplies: paper & chipboard from Prima; lacy circle Nesties - mat crocheted by me

Lots of layers & texture!

Come play with us up until next Friday night, November 15th. And don't forget to go see what my fellow Yellow Canaries have created for you:

Drunken Stampers go Goth!

**I will not be at the Sackville Farmers Market this weekend - I am attending the Handmade Assembly sale at the Sackville Legion on Lorne Street, from 9-5 on Saturday. Hope to see you there!!**

We are back around to PERSON in our person-place-thing challenges at Drunken Stampers, and could this one be more perfect for the upcoming week of ghoulish fun?? Remember, you can enter using either the main or the related alternate theme - for this week, it's Halloween.

DS147

I unfortunately do not know who this digital stamp is from of the girl & pumpkins - please, please comment & let me know if you recognize it so I can give proper credit! I know I got it years ago, and this is the first time I've used it.

Supplies: unknown digital image; PTI bat & sentiment stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Milled Lavender distress ink (sponging around circle); Dress it Up RIP button; Bic markers; Cosmo Cricket paper; classic small circle Nesties.

I can practically see my little Goth girl rolling her eyes at the corny sentiment, can't you? And I love the 'chipped corner' detail on the gravestone button.

Come play with us up until next Friday night, November 1st. And don't forget to go see what my fellow Yellow Canaries have created for you:

Drunken Stampers #145 - Place: CARNIVAL!

I know I say this like every single Drunken Stampers post, but I really do love the Person/Place/Thing themes this term :)

So many possibilities! What could you see at a carnival? Rides, animals, performers, popcorn & cotton candy....so many things, right? I went with a clown:

Supplies: pre-coloured digi from Doodle Pantry; classic small circle Nesties; various embossing folders from Cuttlebug; rhinestones from Dollarama; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

As I usually like to do with pre-coloured digis, I printed out 2, and fussy cut one so I could pop up different parts of the image. I also added some gloss to his nose, buttons, horn, and shoes :)

So, ready to go have fun on the midway? Or under the big top? Or...I'm running out of carnivally things to say....um....on the Ferris Wheel? Ack. Come play with us up until next Friday night, October 18th. And don't forget to go see what my fellow Yellow Canaries have created for you:

Drunken Stampers #143 - Thing! - Die Cuts

I'm really enjoying our Person/Place/Thing challenges this term at Drunken Stampers - with 2 teams, it means that we all get turns doing the different types of challenge. FUN!

There was no hesitation for me - I knew I wanted to give an autumn tree a whirl! Instead of several it turned into several eleventy billion die cut elements, but LOOKIE!

Supplies: MFT tree & leaves die; scrap card stock; Brushed Corduroy distress ink; Jane's Doodles sentiment stamp

Right? Didn't it turn out neat? I think my favourite part is the still-falling leaves. And yes, I love myself. Why? Does it show?

So, ready to play with die cuts? COOL! Come play with us up until next Friday night, October 4th. And don't forget to go see what my fellow Yellow Canaries have created for you:

Drunken Stampers #141 - Bartender!

PERSON is up in our Person/Place/Thing challenges at Drunken Stampers, and what kind of Drunken Stampers would we be if we didn't acknowledge one of our favourite people out there?

OH YEAH, BABY!

You know the DT has this one all wrapped up in a big bow!

Supplies: image & sentiment from Bugaboo; paper from Memory Box; Wonky Rectangles & classic small oval Nesties; bling from Imaginisce; Bic & Spectrum Noir markers; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

I've added Dimensional Magic to Stella's glasses and her martini glasses, because of course I did!

Go look at what my sister Yellow Canaries did!

Remember, you can include a bartender on your card, or use the alternate themes of "drinks or a bar". This challenge is open until next Friday night, September 20.

Drunken Stampers #140 - BUTTONS!

So this week I had to barge in & invite myself to be an honourary Tropical Hooter, because "Thing" is up in our 'person/place/thing' challenges at Drunken Stampers, and this thing? It's kinda my thing.

STAND BACK, I GOT THIS!

Supplies: Stamps from Unity; Mustard Seed distress ink; Colorbox Frost White pigment ink; Stampendous White Detail EP; paper from Basic Grey; BUTTONS from my enormous stash

I bought this stamp during one of Unity's awesome sales because of that fabulous freakin' sentiment....and then blanked on ideas for using it. It was waiting for this card, see.

The button challenge runs until next Friday, September 13, and playing along are the Tropical Hooters team:

and my evil doublemint twin

Drunken Stampers #139 - You won't believe it....trust me.

So, it's time for the Yellow Canary team to strut their stuff over at Drunken Stampers once again. You are not going to believe what the challenge is for this week:

SHUT. UP.

You can imagine the fun we had talking about this in the Lounge - after all, who loves camping more than I do? *sarcasm* This team, by the way, is so incredibly awesome & funny. I love all these gals :)

Obviously I couldn't go with serious - have we met? - so here's my card:

Supplies: Image from Bugaboo; Spectrum Noir & Bic markers; buttons from stash; papers from Fancy Pants

There are some gorgeous (and some funny!) cards for you to see this week - you have GOT to go check these out!

This challenge (with the woodgrain option, if you're not into camping - don't forget!) is open until September 6th. Hope to see you play along!

Drunken Stampers #137 - TWINE!

In keeping with this term's Person, Place, or Thing themes, this week at the Drunken Stampers the 'thing' we want to see is TWINE:

So here's the thing. My twine was all shoved in the top drawer of my desk. EVERYTHING was in that drawer - loose glitter containers, spilled glitter, needles, thread, embroidery floss, my address books, mallet & eyelet setter, paintbrushes...you get the idea. The twine was a disaster - when I tried pulling out the ones I needed for my card, I gave up - and cleaned out the drawer.

AND THEN I had card issues, but I'll get to that. First, the finished project!

Supplies:'Fiesta' Kaleidacolor ink pad; Mustard Seed distress ink; Paper Smooches cloud die; PTI sentiment; Market Street Stamps sun; various twines

Different angle - there's so much dimension to the twine panel that it was hard to capture the details.

Anyway, my card trouble - that bleeping sun. 4 tries it took me to get it properly stamped:

The flashing is enormous. Ink smudges abound. This is why single-layer cards FREAK ME OUT. (You can click to view full-size if you really wanna see all my screw ups. On this card. ALL my screw ups won't fit on the internet.)

Anyway, what have the rest of the Yellow Canaries got for ya?

I hope to see you come play along with this challenge - link up by Friday night, August 16.

Drunken Stampers #135 - Person: ATHLETE

This term at the Drunken Stampers our themes will be 'Person, Place, or Thing'! Up first is the Yellow Canary team, and we've got an athletic challenge for you this week.

I'll show you my card, and then introduce you to the awesome ladies joining the Yellow Canaries!

Supplies: image & sentiment from Bugaboo; Polaroid stamp from Lawn Fawn; Labels 5 Nesties; Bic & Spectrum Noir markers

If you've been tuning in to the Drunken Stampers blog this week, you've met the new girls already. Reading those questionnaires is always a blast!  Team Yellow Canary is the following drunks designers:

I'm so excited to be hanging out with these great ladies! I hope to see you come play along with this challenge - link up by Friday night, August 9.

Drunken Stampers #133 - Edward Scissorhands

I can't believe it - we're at the Midnight Margaritas' last challenge of the term! I have had so much fun with the great gals of the Designated Designers...do YOU want to join us next term? There's a call for fun crafty folks - check it out here.

Now to this week's challenge - be inspired by the movie "Edward Scissorhands" or sewing. I  went for sewing - I actually wanted to re-watch this movie for the challenge but couldn't get my hands on it. It's been at least 20 years since I saw it, and I KNEW I wouldn't be able to remember anything accurately. (Except, was Winona blonde? With long hair?)

Supplies: PTI stamps borrowed from Barb, who rocks; Sassafras paper; Webster's Pages trim; Distress inks: Spiced Marmalade, Old Paper, Peacock Feathers; Memento Grey Flannel ink; green embroidery thread & needle

You'll have to click it to see full-size, but the little green cross-stitching was part of the patterned paper, and I sewed over it for some more dimension. The spool of thread is stamped twice, fussy cut & popped up. And that wonky trim just went perfectly with the shabby layers of the patterned paper - and the whole thing says 'crazy', which draws it back to the sentiment. (Yes, I patted myself on the back. Why?)

Our linky will be open until next Friday night, June 28th. Check out what the rest of the Midnight Margaritas made:

And don't forget to check out the details for the DT call while you're at it!

Jessi

Drunken Stampers #132 - Monty Python!

It's the Bahama Mamas' turn to play at Drunken Stampers this week, but I could not pass up a chance to join in. Rabbits! It's just a flesh wound!

Well, THIS is no ordinary rabbit. It's perhaps a little...vicious? (Full disclosure - my husband says I'm screwing it up by referencing different parts of the movie & not quoting properly. :P)

Supplies: The Cat's Pajamas stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Bic markers; Amy Tangerine paper; classic small oval Nesties; Cotton Ball fun flock from Stampendous; googly eyes!

The ears are flocked, of course.
So, love Monty Python? Rabbits? Killer rabbits? Play along before Friday & you might just be our Life of the Party!!

Drunken Stampers #131 - My Best Friend's Wedding

It's getting to be that time of year - time when all those crazy kids tie the knot! So what better way to celebrate than by playing along with the Drunken Stampers and a totally classic wedding movie?

Of course, I didn't do that ;) Not exactly...I went with the optional theme, and the great part about this week's optional theme? Blue has two meanings, of course.

Supplies: the saddest, saddest sun ever - Market Street Stamps; raindrop paper from MME; Memento Gray Flannel ink; Mustard Seed distress ink; yellow embroidery floss; Corner Chomper; clouds from Barb; buttons from Dollarama

I first stamped the sun in Mustard Seed right on to the patterned paper, and then pierced & stitched along the stamped rays. Nothing like a little stitching to make a simple card pop! To hide the messy back part, I did the stitching first & then adhered to the card base. The buttons were the perfect 'something' I spent quite some time searching for!

Our linky will be open until next Friday night, June 14th. Check out what the rest of the Midnight Margaritas made:

And now to batten down the hatches - it's the last couple days of my mom's visit, and we're about to get a boatload of rain! Rob's mom is driving up today (with lemon pies, drooooool) and we're all cramming in to the little cottage at the beach for my mom's 'roast beast' dinner, droooooool....the kids had a sleepover with them last night, and are having a 'guys only' pancake breakfast today while Mom comes with me to the market. They are STOKED.

Lemon pie. *ahem*

I hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend too!

Jessi
