Shopping our Stash #221 - Wooden it be Nice

Guess what we want to see at Shopping our Stash this week?  All kinds of wood! This is another of those challenges where I was spoiled for choice by what's in my stash, and I finally went with these adorable kitty veneers that Lindsey sent me :)

Supplies: Stamps from Paper Smooches; Basic Grey paper; Wplus9 banner die; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir markers; googly eyes

See that? A perfect little lineup of kitties :)

So what kind of wood is in your stash?

This was a dear friend's birthday card & she loved it :)

Here's the sketch:

Supplies: image from TSC (discontinued); Spectrum Noir markers; DCWV paper; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

And yes, these are missing the Snarky Sisterhood watermark because I discovered this morning that in cleaning the computer up my husband deleted my photo software.

Shopping our Stash #219 - Outta This World!

This week at Shopping our Stash we're playing with the aliens! Alternatively, you can use celestial imagery - moon, stars, planets, etc - if you are lacking in alien inspiration :)

Supplies: sentiment from Stampendous; Alien & spaceship from Jane's Doodles; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Versmark & white EP; Spectrum Noir markers; googly eye; Sakura Stardust glitter pen; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; home made pearl glimmer mist
The background was made quite a while ago but used (I think) Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, and Dusty Concord distress inks, and Fresh Snow PTI ink (plus PTI circle stamps)

Once everything was assembled I decided it needed a spritz of glimmer - so held my breath and took a chance!

Come to outer space with us!

It's NBUS time!

ermagerd, I'm posting for a challenge where I'm not on the design team! That's how you can tell SCHOOL'S BACK ON! (insert cheering here). I fell so far behind on commenting it's ridiculous, and this morning I finally accepted that nope, I'll never catch up. I deleted my feed & am starting fresh - so hopefully this week I'll be getting around and commenting, instead of looking and going OH DEAR GOD how will I catch up?

The fabulous Darnell is once again hosting an NBUS challenge (Never Been Used Schtuff), and I pulled out this cute Avery Elle set to make a fun wedding card:

Supplies: Avery Elle stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Festive Berries distress ink; MME paper; Doodlebug doily; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

Of course I had to gloss up the windows!

I imagine I'll be playing again - just have to peek through my stash and see what needs loving!

If you don't already follow Darnell, you crazy! Sweet, sassy, and a little nutty, her posts always make me smile :)

Shopping our JINGLY Stash!

Ermagerd, it's that time of year again - when Shopping our Stash teams up with the Jingle Belles! I've really fallen off the Christmas card wagon, so this was an excellent kick in the butt to get going again. Our one requirement other than a Christmas theme is that you use something from your stash that is at least a year old, and tell us what it is. Easy peasy!

Supplies: unknown sentiment stamp; Inkadinkado angel; Versamark & white detail EP; pearls from Stampin' Up

My stash supplies are the angel stamp (one of my oldest Christmas stamps, at least 5 years old), my Versamark pad, and my white EP (both of those are about 3 years old). I still love this angel and use it many times a year.

Head on over to the Jingle Belles blog, and the Shopping our Stash blog, to check out the inspiration from both teams. Don't forget to enter both linkies when you join in :)

Tuesday Morning Sketches #317 - Sherri Baldy Designs, redux :)

Here I am (finally!) with my Sherri Baldy card for this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch :) Make sure to pop over to the TMS blog to see the sketch & get all the details on how you can win some super cute digis!

Supplies: digi stamp from Sherri Baldy Designs; Spectrum Noir & Sharpie markers; papers from MME; Basic Grey button; Hero Arts lace; May Arts twine

The details of her wings are traced with a copper Sharpie, which gave it a nice shimmery effect!

Shopping our Stash #218 - Mirror, Mirror!

This week at Shopping our Stash we have a great stash-buster - I know I hoard my fancy schtuff and I bet you do too! We want to see you use something reflective on your card - in my case, I went with super duper shiny metallic cardstock. I can see a blurry unwrinkled version of me in it ;)

Supplies: Paper Smooches animals; Cats Pajamas sentiment; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir & Sharpie markers; 1.5" circle punch; acetate; sequins from Neat & Tangled; AC metallic silver cardstock

And yep, that's a mini shaker in the balloon! It's exactly the right size for a 1.5" circle punch. I got that idea from a card my TMS teammate Melissa made a while back :)

Come peer into the mirror with us!

Check out this awesome sketch by Debbie:

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - F is for....

...fart. Yep, I said fart! This was such a fun challenge to work on - all the Snarky Sisters really brought their inner 12-year-old boys out to play for this one :)

Supplies: digi stamp & sentiment from The Stamping Chef; Spectrum Noir markers; Bo Bunny paper; Diamond Stickles; Sakura stardust glitter pen; BLING!

Sparkly farts....I don't know if that would make them better or worse! lol!

Ready to play? Get some more fartspiration from the sisterhood:

Shopping our Stash #217 - Put a Bird on it!

It can't be more straightforward than this week's Shopping our Stash challenge - get your birds out! I used a Penny Black sticker and dressed it up with some French knots:

Supplies: Penny Black sticker; Reverse Confetti sentiment; Dusty Concord distress ink; MME paper; embroidery supplies

I used the grid design & the sticker elements as guidelines for the stitching - love how it makes the sticker design pop.

C'mon and shake a tail feather with us!

On a personal note, I know the blog has been super quiet - and I've not been around to comment much. The boys are struggling with depression again, and we're in the middle of adjusting their medications. Again. It feels like every time we get them settled and doing well, they grow and then BOOM it takes time to get back in to see the psychiatrist & adjust their dosages. A teacher friend asked me if I was looking forward to school starting and I realized when she asked - I've had two six-hour breaks this summer, total. No wonder I'm overwhelmed! Two more days and then the 'adjusting to school' drama starts - but at least I'll get a few hours a day to recuperate, lol!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #316 - SLS Lines!

I'll be the first to admit that this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch threw me for a loop - until I decided to alter it to fit an A2 card. Then it finally came together! Engineering is not one of my skills :) We have the super fun & quirky SLS Lines as our sponsor again this week - check out the etsy store for fabulous stuff!

Supplies: papers from AC; Tumbled Glass distress ink; unknown feather dies; button from stash; classic small oval & circle Nesties

I die-cut the feathers from one of the pieces of dip-dyed paper I made last week - I used glimmer mist instead of water, and I love the subtle sparkle!

Even if you're intimidated by the easel card, you can still play this week (c'mon, I did it!)

This challenge will be open until next Sunday, September 6 - hop on over & see what the rest of the team has made!

xoxo,
Jessi
