Tuesday Trigger - Ready for Red

I've been creating for a lot of challenges this week, so this weekend will be full of fun stuff here on the blog. I finally had a chance to play along in a few of the Tips & Tricks week challenges at Moxie Fab World (links are all in the sidebar on the main blog page), but right now I'm going to share my card for the current Tuesday Trigger since it ends first, on Sunday November 4th.
First of all, check out this pretty picture -

I rarely print out inspiration pictures. Instead, I write down what inspires me about the picture - in this case I wrote down 'grey and white floral pattern, red velvet, woodgrain.' Overall this photo gives me a feeling of warmth - like in the other half of the room there's a fireplace crackling away, and an elegantly decorated Christmas tree in the corner. And yes, I went with a Christmas card:

Supplies: acetate overlay from Stampin' Up!;
grey cardstock from Bazzill;
grey brad from Basic Grey;
'crochet edge doily' die from Our Daily Bread;
red velvet paper from stash;
snowflake & overlay & rubon & die from the amazing Barbles :) 

Is it ok to love your own card? I hope so, because I love this one. The felt snowflake & velvet paper just want to be touched. The rub-on sentiment is vinyl (I don't know the maker) but it went onto the velvet like BUTTAH. The acetate layer is adhered only underneath the velvet piece - and the static helps the rest of it cling to the base. Yep. I love this card.
