Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - R is for...

...resist! There are so many resist techniques, and the Sistahs have a great mix of old & new that we tried. I found a tutorial for Watercolour Lifting on Splitcoaststampers, which is like a reverse resist. (As a note, I found I needed a LOT of water for the colour lifting - instead of my water brush I used a regular paint brush and dish of water)

Supplies: Distress inks for background & watercolouring; Waltzingmouse sentiment; Ranger embossing ink & clear EP; wonky rectangles Nesties

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - N is for...

...not a card! I know, two non-card projects in a row on my blog...I can't believe it either! The Snarky Sisters would like to see any project that isn't a card - the sky's the limit! I've been saving this palette since January. I picked up some paint brushes at the dollar store simply because they were packaged with it :) It was a definite challenge to photograph:

There are so many supplies involved that I'm not going to list them all. because I'll miss most of them. Crackle paints and crackle embossing paste, stencils, stamps, chipboard, tissue, distress stains, etc etc etc.

I consider this a work in progress, so you will probably see it again with more details :)

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - F is for...

FUGLY! A favourite word of the Snarky Sisters, it's a combination of F***ing and Ugly. You know, that piece of paper in an otherwise cute stack that's just hideous? Or an image that's just....no. I went with a stamp from a set that drives me batsh** - love your muffin top? Really?

I had it out because I do like the other 2 sentiments, and my friend said um, that looks like poop. Fun grad card was born!

Supplies: Neat & tangled poop frosting stamp; Paper Smooches fly stamp; Spectrum Noir markers; computer generated sentiment; grad cap confetti & googly eyes; Lil Inkers stitched rectangle die

Since technically this is a cupcake stamp, I'm going to enter in Naughty or Nice's Hello Cupcake challenge...kinda up their alley ;)

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - Q is for...

Quilts! (Also known as Jessi cheating to find something for the letter Q, and intending that you actually do paper piecing on your project, not make a quilt lol) The Sisterhood has some awesome stuff to share with you once again - here's my uber-simple take:

Supplies: Sentiment from From the Heart; cat stamp from Paper Smooches; scraps of cardstock; googly eyes

I'd printed out this sentiment rather larger than I'd intended, and that limited what I could do with it. Finally after a couple months lingering in my UFO pile I got around to an idea.

Check out the amazing Sisterhood's creations - and extend a warm welcome to our three newly adopted designers:

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - E is for....

One of everybody's favourite techniques (want to impress someone? lol so punny - show them heat embossing. AMIRITE???) The Sistahs want to see you play with embossing techniques this time around! I decided to play with an old favourite - faux faux patina.

Oooooh, shiny!

Supplies: Unity stamp; Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade distress inks; Versamark, Clear, Kaleidoscope, and Pirate Gold EP; Cuttlebug embossing folder; bling from stash

Legend! Fairies, nymphs, dragons, all the creatures of myth & legend this fortnight at the Sisterhood! I decided to go with flower fairies:

Supplies: hmmmm.....everything is kinda from my stash. I think the embossing folder is from Sizzix :)

This card will be going to my dear friend (belatedly) for her birthday :)

So what magical creatures would you like to play with?

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - M is for...

Oooooh, mixed media! The sistahs had fun getting messy and we want you to play too! If you're not sure where to start, Splitcoast has a list to kickstart your ideas. I used crackle paste with a stencil, Distress Stains, fabric, silk, chipboard, and of course a button because well, I'm still me :)

Supplies: Dylusions stencil; Dreamweaver crackle embossing paste; Distress Stain in peeled paint & tea dye; chipboard from Prima; everything else from stash

Ooooh, crackly!

The fabric piece is organza that I frayed the edges of, then heated with my heat gun to get it melty.

So you know you wanna play! Check out the amazing Sisterhood's creations:

And this week's guest designer, LORRAINE!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - K is for...

Kiss! Here's the best part, though - this is an opportunity to make a Valentine - or an anti-Valentine ;) Being a Snarky Sister I had to go with door #2 of course!

Supplies: Stella & sentiment from Bugaboo; Lil Inkers dies; Pebbles paper; Spectrum Noir markers; Diamond stickles; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

Of course she's glossed & glimmered, and perfect for your friend who maybe just had an ugly breakup (or a horrible horrible blind date!)

Go see what the Sistahs made, and then make your own & link up!  You have until Friday, February 5 to play along.

Don't forget to leave some love for this week's guest designer, DOTTY JO! I am totally stealing her sentiment ;)

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - T is for -

Technique! Pick your favourite, try a new one, it's all good with the Sisterhood :) I really honestly intended to pick a new technique, but spending most of my time not able to sit at the desk is really sucking. (I can't remember if I mentioned it on my blog, but I fell & managed to get whiplash. My shoulder is in a lot of pain and I'm not too functional at the moment). SO I went with my latest favourite technique, ink dipping, and some quilling :)

Supplies: Distress inks in Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citron; May Arts sheer ribbon; quilling paper, bling, stick pins, seam binding from stash

Go see what the Sistahs made, and then make your own & link up!  You have until Friday, February 5 to play along.
