Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - F is for...

FUGLY! A favourite word of the Snarky Sisters, it's a combination of F***ing and Ugly. You know, that piece of paper in an otherwise cute stack that's just hideous? Or an image that's just....no. I went with a stamp from a set that drives me batsh** - love your muffin top? Really?

I had it out because I do like the other 2 sentiments, and my friend said um, that looks like poop. Fun grad card was born!

Supplies: Neat & tangled poop frosting stamp; Paper Smooches fly stamp; Spectrum Noir markers; computer generated sentiment; grad cap confetti & googly eyes; Lil Inkers stitched rectangle die

Since technically this is a cupcake stamp, I'm going to enter in Naughty or Nice's Hello Cupcake challenge...kinda up their alley ;)

Check out the amazing Sisterhood's creations -

And this week's guest designer, Creepy Glowbugg!

Oooooh, shiny!

Shopping our Stash #203 - Play Misty for Me!

This week at Shopping our Stash we want you to get out your mists & play! I started by spraying a card-sized piece of cardstock, and then...well, you'll see:

Supplies: stamps from Reverse Confetti; Palette Noir ink; Spiced Marmalade distress ink; Tiger Lily & Yellow Daisy Tattered Angels glimmer mist; button & seam binding from stash; Hero Arts lace; Sizzix embossing folder; gem from stash

After the mists dried, I used an embossing folder and sponged Spiced Marmalade ink on top to help the embossing stand out - and then the watercolour panel and the lace and so on just covered up most of the sparkle, but it's still super shimmery.

So what kind of mists do the SOS gals have in their stash? Check out the SOS crew:

And you have until Monday,June 1st to come play!

The town where I participate in the weekly farmers market is a university town, and convocation weekend is the same weekend as Mother's Day. Supplies: Clearly Besotted feather stamp & die; sentiment from Reverse Confetti; Distress inks in Peacock Feathers, Pine Needles, Seedless Preserves; Versamark & clear EP; buttons & doily from stash; organza fabric & ribbon melted with heat gun

So distressing...

...well, paper distressing ;) I've been having a grand time distressing lately - the dog is always covered in teeny bits of paper, and so am I. The current challenge at little red wagon is distressing, so here are a couple cards to share for that challenge:

Supplies: stamps from PTI; Versamark, pirate gold EP, Frantage antique gold enamel; AC glitter paper; Tonic edge distresser; glue pen

To emboss the random dots with enamel I made spots with a glue pen.

Supplies: paper from MME; unknown stencil; Distress Stain Picket Fence; Pumice Stone distress ink; PTI 'mom' stamp; Webster's Pages lace; button & seam binding from stash; Stampin' Up pearls; Tonic edge distresser

After using the Pumice Stone ink & stencil I lightened it by swiping stain over top. I felt very Becca-ish while making this one :)

Supplies: papers from Simple Stories; Recollections brown burlap; Paper Smooches sentiment; Gathered Twigs distress ink; Tonic edge distresser

Shopping our Stash #155 - Something Soft

This week at Shopping our Stash we want to see you get all soft & cuddly with your supplies! Think flock, felt, flower soft, satin, fabric, puffy tail on a bunny, etc.

Supplies: Stampendous Chick; AC foam Thickers; papers from Fancy Pants; classic small oval Nesties; yellow Fun Flock; Bic Markers; homemade enamel dots

Besides adding fun flock to my chickie, those Thickers are super soft - this is my first time using the pack, and I was actually going to add flock to them - but they're soooo soft!

- and don't forget to check out what the rest of the gals made:

I followed the current Wanna Sketch?16 for the layout (altered to fit a landscape layout) and then I got crazy and made 4 more cards with it. This first one is inspired completely by Lindsey, who used this rose as a background (brilliant!!)
Supplies: Stampin' Up rose; Paper Smooches sentiment; Spun Sugar & Worn Lipstick distress inks; Memento Gray Flannel ink; Versamark & white Detail EP; various mists (not sure, this was in my stash box a while!)

You've got to love a layout that lends itself to cards for every occasion!

Curtain Call & Paper Smooches

Looking at the inspiration picture for Curtain Call I kept thinking about the popcorn - and came up with an idea that made me flappy with happy! The littlest cloud dies from Paper Smooches look just like popcorn :)

Supplies: Paper Smooches cloud dies, sentiment; home made enamel dots; Wplus9 banner die; distress inks in Barn Door & Squeezed Lemonade

After die-cutting the clouds, I sponged them with the Lemonade ink for the buttery popcorn look. I free-hand the popcorn box, and used washi tape as a mask to create the stripes. They're a little wonky but I think it works :) The enamel dots are melted pony beads, which are going to be popping up a lot around here. Both kids LOVE the idea of melting them, and they were arguing yesterday over who got to sort them all by colour.

And I'm also entering this in the Anything Goes challenge at Paper Smooches SPARKS:

Graduation FUSION

This card took a lot longer than it seemed like it should - probably because I didn't measure anything ;) I ended up going with a true FUSION of the inspiration & the sketch once again, loving the idea of bright yellow, black, and white for a graduation card.

Supplies: Hats Off sentiment from Studio G; text background stamp from Unity; Versamark & black detail EP; Mustard Seed distress ink; grad cap confetti & black gemmy things from my stash; classic small oval Nesties

That confetti has been in my stash for years - those little caps are just the right size for everything :)

This is one of those great sentiments that can be for a variety of occasions - birthday, graduation, congratulations...love those versatile sayings!

Here's this week's sketch:

Sending you a High Five!

Another bunch of posts from me - sorry not sorry ;) It feels good to have so many ideas! Here's a couple of graduation/congratulations cards. The hand is on a wobbler, so you can truly high-five the little guy. (On a related note, I've been binge-watching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix....)

Supplies: Congrats, right on, great job, hand stamps from Paper Smooches; high five sentiment from PTI; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Distress inks in Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door, Peacock Feathers; classic small circle Nesties; various glimmer mists for splatter

I love the tilted panels - and with the marker-lined edges it really pops. One of those cards that came out exactly how I wanted it to!

Supplies: Turtle, shadow,  & sentiment from Paper Smooches; confetti & woot from The Cat's Pajamas; Memento Tuxedo black ink; Bic Markers; Sharpie white paint pen; grad cap confetti; Distress inks in Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Seedless Preserves, Pumice Stone; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; googly eye; striped paper from DCWV

The turtle's shell & toenails are glossed with Dimensional Magic, and the confetti hat is attached with a pop dot. Next up - fitting one of those grad caps on  the hamster!

Seize the Sketch #19 reminder!

Thanks so much!

Popping in with a second card for Seize the Sketch #19 - already so many fabulous entries this round! It's going to be so hard to choose winners! (Now that's an awesome problem to have!)

Supplies: papers from MME; sentiment stamp from Paper Smooches; Versamark; Carnelian EP (Stampendous); Wplus9 banner die; Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels)

I used the sketch with a horizontal orientation rather than simply flipping it. And I held my breath while I flicked on the glimmer mist - I'd already embossed the sentiment when I decided to do that!

Here's the sketch - I hope you find time to play along! The linky is open until Sunday May 11.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #248 - Deedee's Digis!

Good morning! We've got a fun sketch for you this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches - and we're sponsored by Deedee's Digis!  I was excited to be able to play along with her fabulous Congratulations Graduate set.

Supplies: Congratulations Graduate digi stamp set from Deedee's Digis;  patterned papers from Simple Stories; Karen Foster cork; Paper Smooches twine; classic small circle Nesties; button from stash

I didn't flip the sketch but rather made it work with a horizontal orientation. The cork was fun to play with - I recently got a metal adapter plate for my Cuttlebug, and no more running it through 5 times. That thing makes everything cut like butter!

Here's this week's sketch:

If you've already been to the main blog you'll have seen that Jenee is leaving the team - make sure to stop by her blog & wish her well!

The linky for this sketch will be open until Sunday, May 11 - check out what the rest of the gals got up to!

FUSION - Colourful Chevron

The Fusion (Colourful Chevron) challenge ends on Tuesday - and I think for the first time ever playing along, I went with a fusion of the sketch & inspiration photo. Connor particularly loves this card - he also wants me to add "Into Hyperspace" underneath. Maybe not ;)

Supplies: paper from Simple Stories; Studio Calico veneers; glitter paper from stash; letter stickers from Sassafrass

Grab onto your collars - I made 34 cards this week, so there will be a barrage of posts in the next few days :)

Playing with Watercolour

The current Pink Elephant challenge is to watercolour - and I decided it was high time for me to hop on the bandwagon & play!

Supplies: sentiment from Paper Smooches; medallion stamp from Stampendous; Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in Pearl, Cherub Pink, Starfish, Blue Skies, and Turquoise Blue; Distress inks in Victorian Velvet & Peacock Feathers; Neat & Tangled crystal clear sequins; Versmark & Moonstone EP; AC silver card stock; Cuttlebug embossing folder; silver paint pen

First I used the four coloured mists to paint the background, and then I inked up the medallion stamp with two colours & spritzed it with Pearl mist before stamping on the still-wet background piece. Once it was dry, I cut the panel to the size I wanted & stamped the sentiment. I love how the inks bled into the background - this medallion stamp is truly one of my go-to stamps.
