And I could go back to sleep again...*phew* A good 12-hour catch-up last night, and I do actually feel like I'll have a nap later today. I feel SO MUCH BETTER!
I played along with a number of challenges yesterday, so I'll dole them out slowly for you. First up,
Moxie Fab's 'I've a Notion' Tuesday Trigger. Here's the gorgeous photo:
I really, really enjoyed making my card. I knew I wanted to use some Webster's Pages trim, and buttons, and a doily. And this is what happened:
Supplies: trim from Webster's Pages; unknown patterned papers; EAD Designs rub-on sentiment; Wilton doily; Martha Stewart 1/16" hole punch; Corner Chomper; vintage buttons
If anyone knows where the gorgeous flower doily paper is from, please let me know :)
I began by adhering the trim (it's about twice as wide as is showing here - the striped paper covers the adhesive this way), and then layering the striped paper. And then I was stuck! I played around with the doily for a bit, and I still didn't really know what I wanted to do. I went back & looked through the stack of papers that had the striped piece in it, and found the doily pattern.
It went really quickly from there - I lopped off one side of the doily & glued it down, and then fussy-cut the floral doily. It still needed "something," so I used the teeny hole punch to punch out segments of the printed pattern, and adhered it with foam tape so that the cut-out areas would show.
With such a vintage feel to the card, I thought it would be a good time to dig into my stash of vintage buttons that my mother-in-law gave me last summer. The swirls on the top button...such a pretty detail! The sentiment was originally all on one line, and I trimmed it to better suit what I envisioned. Sewed on the lower buttons, and used foam tape to stick the top one on. Chomped the upper right corner, and voila :)
A little more coffee, and one more post coming up!
xoxo,
Jessi
