Every Story is Beautiful

The story prompt at CASology instantly made me think of this sentiment stamp - and then I just fiddled to bring the rest of the card together.

Supplies: All stamps from PTI; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Festive Berries distress ink; Labels 4 Nesties; Cuttlebug embossing folder

Of course since this is a CAS card, the three stamps I used are from three different sets. Always the way!

Home & Heart

This time of year I like to have a few "new home" cards on hand - it seems to be a popular time to move (which makes sense because moving when there's snow on the ground? NO.) I put one together for this week's CAS Embossing challenge at The Kraft Journal:

Supplies: light & regular kraft card stock; stamps from PTI; Kraft ink from PTI; Versamark & copper EP; embossing folder from Sizzix; Nesties labels die; May Arts twine; buttons from stash

I just picked up the copper embossing powder last week, and I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of it in the next little while! I wanted to use both dry and heat embossing on my card, and looking through my folders thought this one was perfect for the theme.

Newprint Snowpeople!

The newsprint challenge at Merry Monday was a challenge! I dug through my patterned papers until I found some to suit, and then let them do all the heavy lifting :)

Supplies: papers from Fancy Pants; sentiment from PTI; Evergreen Bough distress ink; Picket Fence distress stickles

I glittered up the torn edge with stickles, and then randomly dotted them all over for a falling snow effect. Super simple!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - V is for...

Vellum! You know, vellum and snark don't seem to go hand in hand, but the Snarky Sisters really pulled it out this time around. Myself, once I saw our guest designer Jane's card I knew I had to bring it! I actually made two, and wasn't sure about the first one so I kept going.

Supplies: Lil Inkers Between the Lines stamp; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; scraps of everything; clear glitter glue

My sisters assured me the fire was suggestive enough of hell, lol :) And also teased me that after the last few weeks this next card I should give to myself:

Supplies: AC letter stickers; Paper Smooches thumbs up stamp; 1 1/8" circle punch; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery thread

I did a classic Jessi face-first fall on Mother's Day morning, all my weight on my right knee. That pales in comparison with last weekend, though. Pulling apart the old treehouse, I half stepped, half stumbled backwards onto a board with nails sticking out. Three went through my shoe, two into my foot. The funny thing is, I had to pull my foot off, then my shoe....and then I just went back to working, realizing a couple minutes later my shoe was full of blood. Gotta love the body and those first few minutes it gives you to clue in!

So although I'm always rather clumsy, it's only rare that I have to go to the emergency room for it - but a tetanus shot and antibiotics (and foot soaks), and ohhhh be careful and keep an eye on it because diabetes & feet...it's been a long week. People still expect to eat, off clean dishes even, and have clean clothes to wear. Pffft.

Anyway, that aside - you need to go get out your vellum and make a card! It doesn't have to be snarky :)

You've got until Friday, June 12 to join in

And don't forget to stop by and leave our guest designer JANE some love for her project! (Don't be drinking coffee when you go....just sayin'!)

Inspired by FUSION

I was inspired by the photo prompt at FUSION to use these colours, and the pattern of different circles, by the flowers on that luscious cake!

Supplies: Stamps from tons of different sets; Peacock Feathers & Scattered Straw distress inks; Versamark & white detail EP; yellow & white sequins

I like the subtlety of the embossed white circles - it pops without totally overwhelming the rest of the card. And who doesn't like to be told they're awesome? I mean really.

Playing Catch Up with Jingle Belles

Lest you think I've ditched my New Year's Resolution to play along with all the Jingle Belles challenges again....ok, well, I had to catch up on a couple. I missed the deadline TWICE! Oy. So I'll start with my card for the current Let it Snow:

Supplies: papers/stickers from Echo Park; Lil Inkers rectangle die; sequins & confetti

You can just about see the widdle snowman peeking out at the bottom there! (and yes, wow, lots of static with this shaker!)

I've also got a card for the sketch challenge:

Supplies: papers from Bo Bunny; 1 1/8" circle punch; Stampendous sentiment; Evergreen Bough distress ink; pink rhinestones

And for the hybrid challenge:

Supplies: digi stamp from Bugaboo; sentiment from Reverse Confetti; Spectrum Noir markers; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; black rhinestones; AC paper

And of course the glasses & her glasses are shiny :)

Father's Day Sketch

Squeaking in at the last minute with an entry for the sketch challenge at The Paper Players - after weeks of not really following challenges I've made cards for most of my favourites this week :) It feels good!

Supplies: stamps from PTI; Paper Smooches cloud dies; Studio Calico boat veneers; Distress inks in Festive Berries, Chipped Sapphire, and Tumbled Glass

I masked off the bottom portion of the boat to stamp the little circles as waves - kinda graphic & I like it :)

Shopping our Stash #203 - Play Misty for Me!

This week at Shopping our Stash we want you to get out your mists & play! I started by spraying a card-sized piece of cardstock, and then...well, you'll see:

Supplies: stamps from Reverse Confetti; Palette Noir ink; Spiced Marmalade distress ink; Tiger Lily & Yellow Daisy Tattered Angels glimmer mist; button & seam binding from stash; Hero Arts lace; Sizzix embossing folder; gem from stash

After the mists dried, I used an embossing folder and sponged Spiced Marmalade ink on top to help the embossing stand out - and then the watercolour panel and the lace and so on just covered up most of the sparkle, but it's still super shimmery.

So what kind of mists do the SOS gals have in their stash? Check out the SOS crew:

And you have until Monday,June 1st to come play!

Christmas Birches

I feel like I'm playing a continual game of catch-up these days! It doesn't help that every time I go to use Bloglovin' or open more than 3 tabs the computer crashes....grrrr...
Popping in quickly to share my Merry Monday card for the week:

Supplies: PTI stamps & cardstock; Versamark & white detail EP; Dylusions stencil; Dreamweaver crackle embossing paste

And thanks to my elderly computer, it took 15 minutes to make this post....AUGHHHHH....lol!

Shopping our Stash #202 - Silver & Gold

May 24th is our four year anniversary at Shopping our Stash! And to celebrate we'd like to see your Silver & Gold creations - you've got to use both :) I've made an OMG SPARKLY card:

Supplies: sparkle paper from American Crafts; heart & circle Nesties; sentiment from PTI; versamark & moonstone EP; sparkly silver button from stash; Bow Easy & white floss

So. Much. Sparkle. The button is hidden underneath the bow - it really matches! And I absolutely love that sentiment for a wedding or just an I love you card :)

So how have the gals interpreted the Silver & Gold brief? Check out the SOS crew:

And you have until Monday,May 25th to come play!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #301 - Stitchy Bear!

Good morning! This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have Stitchy Bear back as a terrific sponsor - such a huge variety of images they offer! We've also got a fun and funky sketch for you:

Supplies: papers from MME; sentiment from Reverse Confetti; versamark & detail white EP; buttons from stash; emery board to distress the orange panel

After embossing the sentiment I distressed the edges with an emery board - rather than the fuzzy distressed edge I was going for the scratchy look. Check!

Here's the sketch - I've tilted it on its side:

This challenge will be open until next Sunday, May 24 - hop on over & see what the rest of the team has made!

Baby Shower!

I pulled out all sorts of yellow, orange, and green supplies this week, inspired by The Challenge - and then proceeded to use them in all sorts of different combinations. I did make this baby card, which was inspired by the palette but uses more pastel shades:

Supplies: unknown stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Dried Marigold distress ink; papers from American Crafts; Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery supplies; buttons from stash; classic small circle Nesties

I'm really excited with how well I've managed to get the stitched corners to turn out - who would've thunk it'd be that hard to pierce a 90 degree angle? Maybe I'm just special, lol

Merry Monday Stencils

I really like how my card for Merry Monday turned out!

Supplies: papers from Simple Stories; tonic edge distresser; Aleene's snow paint; unknown polka dot stencil; May Arts twine; Bow Easy; buttons from stash

Snow paint works really well with stencils - and is easier to wash off as well. I maaaayyy have some embossing paste stuck to the bathroom sink ;)

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - C is for...

Cake! (mmmmmm, cake....)

I am still apparently snark-impaired...lucky snark isn't necessary to enter. The sisters have some awesome snark to make up for it though :) I made a quilled wedding cake:

Supplies: Stampin' Up pearls; Corner Chomper; Tattered Angels pearl glimmer mist; quilling paper

I freehanded the cake as I quilled, filling in the layers where needed. The little blooms were fussy as all get out but I love how they turned out!

So what delicious cake offerings have we got to whet your appetite?

You've got until Friday, May 29th to join in

And don't forget to stop by and leave our guest designer STEPHANIE some love for her project!
