Shopping our Stash #260 - Get Inspired by Your Bedding!

Good morning! This week at Shopping our Stash we'd like you to get inspired by your bedding! I had quite the trouble getting going with this challenge, because we just don't have a pretty grown-up bedroom with matching things. However, what we DO have is a bed with messed up blankets, and cats and dog tucked in, and it's cozy as all get out. Plus there's a purple sheet on it right now....and thus:

Supplies: stamp from Stampers Anonymous (Tim Holtz); Palette Noir ink; Lil Inkers stitched rectangle die; Wilted Violet distress ink to watercolour; purple gems from stash

A plus? I used all the gems in the package!

Shopping our Stash #259 - Say WHAT???

This week at Shopping our Stash we want you to say something - with speech bubbles! Use a die cut, a stamp, or even freehand one :)

Supplies: Paper Smooches stamps; Palette Noir ink; distress inks for watercolouring; American Crafts papers; MME enamel dots; speech bubble die (unknown)

This is one of those layouts where I was determined to use the leftover paper strips - the yellow paper had a fishtail cut out of one end, and I fiddled and fiddled with different papers from the same pad until I was finally (mildly) satisfied with the result ;) I'm super proud of myself for recycling those teensy triangles I cut off! lol

So what have YOU got to say?  come link up by Monday, July 11 :)

Tuesday Morning Sketches #355 - All Dressed Up!

Good morning! This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches All Dressed Up is our sponsor - you know they have a great selection of cute images, and winning them would make them even better :) I got to work with the sweet Love to Craft :

Supplies: Love to Craft digi stamp from All Dressed Up; Spectrum Noir markers; papers from American Crafts; Lil Inkers stitched rectangle dies; unknown banner die; classic small circle Nesties

I printed out two copies of the image so I could fussy-cut and pop up her head (that sounds wrong lol) for some added interest.

Here's the sketch:

This challenge will be open until next Sunday, June 12 - hop on over & see what the rest of the team has made!

Shopping our Stash #249 - Think Ink!

This week at Shopping our Stash we want to see you stretch your creativity by using LOTS of ink - but no colouring. I thought this challenge was perfect for using a dipped ink background (like I need encouragement for that, lol)

Supplies: Distress inks in Spiced Marmalade & Ripe Persimmon; Versamark & clear EP; stamps from Waltzingmouse; buttons from stash

On top of the dipped background I used Ripe Persimmon & Versamark to emboss the big beautiful sentiment, and then accented with buttons well, because I could :)

Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday May 2 to come play!

Shopping our Stash #247 - You stamped with WHAAAA?

This is a super fun and unique challenge this week at Shopping our Stash - stamp with something not intended for stamping :) I tried a number of things - felt flower, sea urchin, bottom of a banana, cd case...and finally went with the lid of a nail polish bottle!

Supplies: Lil INkers sentiment and sun/cloud dies; Memory Box 'splat' die; distress inks; Versamark, clear EP, Palette Noir ink

I stamped the background onto watercolour paper and then lightly brushed with my water brush so as not to eliminate the double circles from stamping.

So what other crazy things did we stamp with? Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday April 18 to come play!

Shopping our Stash #246 - April Fools!

This week at Shopping our Stash we want you to fool us - a little ;) Use a faux technique, or include a hidden element on your card. I went with my favourite faux technique, faux tiles:

Supplies: Stamp from Hero Arts; Palette Noir ink; Distress inks for watercolouring; UTEE and Versamark; trims from stash

I used 3 layers of UTEE to get nice thick tiles, and then crackled them just a little bit before adhering them to the card.

Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday April 11 to come play!

Shopping our Stash #241 - WHITE OUT!

Ahhhh that sounds like a wintry challenge doesn't it? Most of us in the Northern Hemisphere have had enough of the white stuff though, so the challenge at Shopping our Stash this week is to use NO white cardstock. This seemed easy peasy....until I got going and kept adding white panels to every.dang.card. Really, brain? *sigh*

I made it work, though, and love how it turned out:

Supplies: Prima chipboard; Dylusions & Tim Holtz stencils; Dreamweaver crackle paste; Broken China and Tattered Rose distress inks; banner die from Wplus9; sentiment from Paper Smooches; button & fabric from stash

The fabric began about 4x that size, and I treated it with my heat fun until it had the look I wanted. The background was one of those 'oh shoot, I wrecked it' projects - the blue felt like a mistake at first, but adding the rose worked. Tis true, mixed media isn't finished until you're happy with it, just keep going :)

Check out what the rest of my awesome teammates made!

And you have until Monday March 7 to come play!

Jessi

Tuesday Morning Sketches #341 - Bugaboo Stamps!

We have a really fun sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches - lots of fun details to play with. Bugaboo Stamps is returning as a spectacular sponsor, and the team chose some really fun images to play with.

Supplies: Girlz Coffee digi from Bugaboo Stamps; 'blah blah' stamp from Rubber Dance; 'coffee' and coffee cups from Waltzingmouse Stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Picked Raspberry Distress ink; Kraft ink from PTI; Spectrum Noir & Sharpie markers; 1" circle punch; paper from MME

The 'tabs' on the triple background panels were a challenge for me - although I adhered them out of order (gah) I did it by taping the three panels together with washi tape, and then punching with a small circle punch.

Here's the sketch - Debbie's the sketch artist this week!

This challenge will be open until next Sunday, March 6 - hop on over & see what the rest of the team has made!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - M is for...

Oooooh, mixed media! The sistahs had fun getting messy and we want you to play too! If you're not sure where to start, Splitcoast has a list to kickstart your ideas. I used crackle paste with a stencil, Distress Stains, fabric, silk, chipboard, and of course a button because well, I'm still me :)

Supplies: Dylusions stencil; Dreamweaver crackle embossing paste; Distress Stain in peeled paint & tea dye; chipboard from Prima; everything else from stash

Ooooh, crackly!

The fabric piece is organza that I frayed the edges of, then heated with my heat gun to get it melty.

So you know you wanna play! Check out the amazing Sisterhood's creations:

And this week's guest designer, LORRAINE!
