Seize the Sketch #27 - Cathy's Sketch

Thank you!

This is a bittersweet post - this is the last challenge for us at Seize the Sketch. I've had a great time playing with these talented women, and I know I'll still be stalking all their blogs. Since it's our last hurrah, help us go out with a bang & lots of players! Cathy designed the sketch this go-round:

Supplies: floral block stamp from Stampabilities; thanks from Stampin' Up; Mowed Lawn distress ink; Versamark & clear EP; green rhinestone

My card is super simple - the two 'boxes' made me think of this floral stamp, which I masked off to stamp just 2 motifs.

Here's the sketch:

Seize the Sketch #26 - Katie!

This week at Seize the Sketch we have Katie as our sketch artist - and oh em gee, the possibilities are endless with this sketch! I can see using this one again & again.

Supplies: stamps from Paper Smooches; Spectrum Noir markers; Memento Tuxedo Black ink

Now I'll tell you, my husband is not generally a fan of CAS. When I showed him this one, he said "look at that! It doesn't look unfinished!" I take that as high praise :)

Here's Katie's sketch:

Seize the Sketch #25!

Mona is our sketch artist this week at Seize the Sketch, and I decided to go for a baby card!

Supplies: bunny stamp from Unity; sentiment & cloud dies from Paper Smooches; Memento Gray Flannel ink; papers from Doodlebug; Spectrum Noir markers; button & twine from stash; 1.5" circle punch

I had fun playing with the very palest markers to create the sky. The button was threaded with twine & then I perfected the bow before sewing the button onto the card with embroidery floss.

Here's the sketch:

Seize the Sketch #24!

Thanks so much!

This week at Seize the Sketch the talented Vicki is our sketch artist - and she's designed a grand simple one that's easy to dress up! I decided to spend some time colouring & thought this layout was perfect for a detailed fairy.

Supplies: digi stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps; Sakura Stardust glitter pen; yellow glitter fabric paint; patterned paper unknown; Spectrum Noir markers: blender; LG2; FS7,8,9; PL2; BT2,4, 5; PP2; CT2, 4; OR1; EB1,2; GB2; TN2

To create the background I coloured it in with a single marker (PL2) and then went over it with the blender pen, and then used the blender pen again to make dots. My first time trying that technique & I love how it turned out. I'm also happier with her hair than I have been lately - slowly but surely practice helps!
Her eyes & the hummingbird are glittered with the Stardust pen, and the lilies have yellow glitter fabric paint to jazz them up.

Here's the sketch:

I'm also entering this in the Spectrum Noir July challenge on Facebook - Summer Theme (lilies and hummingbirds definitely say summer around here!)

Seize the Sketch #23!

Welcome to a new challenge at Seize the Sketch! This time around Lee Ann is our sketch artist, and she's created a sketch that I thought would be PERFECT for wedding cards!

Supplies: papers from MME; sentiment from Paper Smooches; Stampin' Up Not Quite Navy ink; classic small oval Nesties

In order to make the oval element work on my card, I cut the oval into two pieces, and covered up the 'gap' with the rectangular panel. I love the funky modern feel that the yellow & navy combo gives this card.

Seize the Sketch #22

Thanks!!

Good morning! It's time for a brand new sketch over at Seize the Sketch, and this week Lori Tecler is our sketch artist. (I tried to fit "sketch" in that sentence one.more.time. but I couldn't do it! lol)

I decided to pull out some funky neon and make a super bright card:

Supplies: Neon card stock & washi tape from Recollections; Cuttlebug embossing folder; sentiment from The Stamps of Life; Adirondack Citrus ink; quilling paper

I assembled the base panel & stamped the sentiment before embossing - embossing the washi really helps it stay put! The flower is made up of two layers - one with large petals, one with smaller, slightly offset for more dimension. *happy sigh*

Here's the sketch:

Seize the Sketch #21!

Thank you!

Welcome to a brand-new Seize the Sketch! Lori Turner is our sketch artist this week, and I LOVE the simplicity of this sketch - you can dress it up as much as you like, or go completely CAS.

Supplies: paper from MME; stickers from Penny Black; sentiment from Lawn Fawn; Vintage Photo distress ink & clear detail EP; scrap vellum; clear glitter glue (studio G)

My stash of thank you cards is running low, so be forewarned you might be seeing a whole bunch soon! I added some clear glitter to the butterfly for that extra 'something'.

Here's the fab sketch:

Seize the Sketch #20 reminder

**note to self - you have to hit publish in order to make the post show up. Facepalm**

I have my second take on Lesley's sketch for Seize the Sketch #20 to share with you - I scavenged some of those small strips of paper I hoard save for just the right project, and made a kid card:

Supplies: Stamps from Stampendous; papers from Bo Bunny; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink; classic small oval Nesties; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; Bic Markers; twine from stash

I stamped, coloured, and fussy cut the spaceship, adhered the twine pieces to the back, and then coated it with a liberal amount of Dimensional Magic. Spaceships are shiny, right? RIGHT? :)

There's still time to play along with this sketch - you've got until Sunday!

Here's the sketch:

We've got some design team changes too - make sure you visit the blog to see what's up :)

Seize the Sketch #19 reminder!

Thanks so much!

Popping in with a second card for Seize the Sketch #19 - already so many fabulous entries this round! It's going to be so hard to choose winners! (Now that's an awesome problem to have!)

Supplies: papers from MME; sentiment stamp from Paper Smooches; Versamark; Carnelian EP (Stampendous); Wplus9 banner die; Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels)

I used the sketch with a horizontal orientation rather than simply flipping it. And I held my breath while I flicked on the glimmer mist - I'd already embossed the sentiment when I decided to do that!

Here's the sketch - I hope you find time to play along! The linky is open until Sunday May 11.

I just got this stamp set from Unity - LOVE it! I used a paintbrush to give a glittery glow to all those candles :)

Here's the sketch:

Seize the Sketch #18, Part Two

Thank you so much!

We're halfway into the challenge for Seize the Sketch #18, and WOW you guys are knocking it out of the park! A few team members have some more creations for you today, including me:

Supplies: Penny Black sticker; MME paper; buttons & cardstock strip from stash

This was a crazy-quick card - I LOVE these Penny Black stickers, and the star element on the sketch just says BIG OL' BUTTON to me :)

Seize the Sketch #18

Thank you!

I just recently bought my first bunch of Tiddly Inks digis, and this SWEET little girl was perfect for Jessica's sketch at Seize the Sketch!

Supplies: digi image from Tiddly Inks; papers from Fancy Pants; classic small oval Nesties; Spectrum Noir markers; Doodlebug Crushed Velvet flock - white & pink; button from my stash; Tumbled Glass distress ink

After colouring this little cutie, I added flocking to her costume. I do love a touchable card :) I also sponged Tumbled Glass ink around  the edge of the panel to make it pop a little more.

Here's the sketch:

The linky is open until Sunday April 27 - be sure to check out what all the gals have been up to!
