Home for the Holidays

This challenge was a tough one for me - although my home is here with my kids, I am horribly homesick every year at Christmas for my sister, my mom, my grandma....it's been a long time since I was really HOME for Christmas. (And, truth be told, I'm pretty freaking homesick these days too.) But, the thought of missing a jingle belles challenge got me back in gear at the last minute (well, the last 4 hours or so) and I did come up with something:

Supplies: Crate Paper patterned paper; classic small circle Nesties; K&Co house die-cuts; sentiment stamps from Stampendous; Broken China, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry distress inks; Sakura stardust glitter pen

To get a closer match for the pink ink, I used both Worn Lipstick & Picked Raspberry inks. The raspberry ink is SO juicy that as you can see, it blurred a little bit. The Broken China is a much better match IRL.

I cut additional circles out of white cardstock in matching sizes, and tore small pieces off the edges to act as 'snowdrifts'. I traced the torn edges with glitter pen & smudged with my finger to soften it.

xoxo,
Jessi

Jessi, I get homesick at Christmas time too!
Your card is sensational though. Love the design you used with the circles behind the houses. Very cute!

I think I'm lucky in some ways that I work most Christmases, I don't really have time to think about it all. I just try to make the most of my family when I do talk to them or see them. Your card is uber cute Jessi, hugs to you x

Very sweet card, Jessi. You make the most wonderful cards using the pastel colors.

Sorry to hear you are homesick...hope you get to see your family soon. (hug inserted here)

I totally get what you say about homesickness Jessi. It's more of a 365 day thing for me. I love the simplicity of this card! The soft colors, those cute house die cuts, your snowdrifts! Awesome!

The way the roof of the lower house overlaps the other circle is so perfect, Jessi. A sweet Christmas card.

A beautiful card, love the sparkly snowdrifts and paths and fun colours for Christmas. Sucks being so far away from home, especially at Christmas :( Hope you are feeling up.

Big hugs, Dawn
