Nice & Neutral

I really tend to be drawn towards bright colours when I create. I love the look of kraft paper, but I never feel all that comfortable with my own designs using it. Here's a few neutral coloured projects out of my great big "stash" of unblogged cards:
Supplies: patterned kraft paper from Basic Grey;
sentiment sticker from SRM;
floral stamp from Stampendous,
stamped with Versamark & embossed with white EP;
(stamped on envelope with Palette Noir);
making memories black brads;
Labels 4 Nesties; black sharpie for borders

Supplies: patterned kraft paper from Basic Grey;
fairy image & flowers from Cicely Mary Barker book;
standard & lacey circle Nesties;
sentiment from Studio G;
Vintage Photo distress ink;
brown & cream pearls;
iridescent sparkle fabric paint (on fairy wings & flower centres)

Supplies: Paper from K&Co Mariposa Mat Stack;
bird clip art from Crafty Secrets;
'birthday wishes' sticker from SRM;
'hope this day...' sentiment from Kaisercraft,
stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black;
Tim Holtz distressing tool (bird panel)
Supplies: papers & edge stamps from Bo Bunny;
Old Paper distress ink;
sentiment from MFT; Vintage Photo distress ink;
brown brads from Making Memories;

Supplies: patterned kraft paper from Basic Grey;
stamps from Inkadinkado, Digital Princess, Studio G, Basic Grey;
Distress inks: Tumbled Glass, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade,
Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Fired Brick;
Memento Tuxedo Black ink;
black Sharpie for border
My desk clean up hasn't gotten off the ground yet - and boy, it's bad. I've sat down to create a few times in the last couple days, and ended up taking some quilling supplies & sitting elsewhere. There's just too much piled up (and Sarah & Mom, I bet you're laughing right now...) For me to think there's too much clutter...yeah, it's bad. Maybe this weekend. Definitely before my new stuff arrives :)

School is starting out OK. Yesterday, day 3, we finally got the bus straightened out in both the morning & the afternoon. The timing is unfortunate - we leave at 7:55, Connor gets the bus at about 8:15, and then walk Riley to school - so Riley's reaaaallly early. Same thing after school - Riley's dismissed at 2:30, and Connor's bus doesn't arrive until about 3:10. Not enough time to go home in between, but a lot of just waiting around. We could request that Connor ride the special needs bus, and he would be picked up & dropped off right at home, but since he CAN ride the regular bus, we think he should. I wonder how I'll feel about that when it's
-30 C and I'm waiting around outside for several hours?

xoxo,
Jessi

Yuck. Having kids in two different schools with two different schedules = wasted time for mom. I hate that. But I'm glad you are getting things straightened out--and yes, you may reconsider (see? *I* give you permission!!! hee, hee) as the weather gets colder!!

Love your use of kraft and more understated colors in these creations, Jessi. There's incredible variety here!!

Hi Jessi - what another fabulous line up of cards. WOW they are all fabulous. I love the fairy on the second card and the flowers on the last card. I also love that you stamp the envelope. My cards just go straight into a box.

On another note - I was teaching temperature to my students this week. Many of my kids are from another country so the Farenheit and Celcius came up. I told them that the US is the only country that does things differently. I'll have to show them your post!!

I think you have done a good job on neutral colours, Jessi! Love the first and the last one. When it comes to colours, I'm versatile with them as to what I need to create!
