Newprint Snowpeople!

The newsprint challenge at Merry Monday was a challenge! I dug through my patterned papers until I found some to suit, and then let them do all the heavy lifting :)

Supplies: papers from Fancy Pants; sentiment from PTI; Evergreen Bough distress ink; Picket Fence distress stickles

I glittered up the torn edge with stickles, and then randomly dotted them all over for a falling snow effect. Super simple!

Christmas Birches

I feel like I'm playing a continual game of catch-up these days! It doesn't help that every time I go to use Bloglovin' or open more than 3 tabs the computer crashes....grrrr...
Popping in quickly to share my Merry Monday card for the week:

Supplies: PTI stamps & cardstock; Versamark & white detail EP; Dylusions stencil; Dreamweaver crackle embossing paste

And thanks to my elderly computer, it took 15 minutes to make this post....AUGHHHHH....lol!

Merry Monday Stencils

I really like how my card for Merry Monday turned out!

Supplies: papers from Simple Stories; tonic edge distresser; Aleene's snow paint; unknown polka dot stencil; May Arts twine; Bow Easy; buttons from stash

Snow paint works really well with stencils - and is easier to wash off as well. I maaaayyy have some embossing paste stuck to the bathroom sink ;)

Sparkly Stuff!

I missed playing along in Merry Monday last week - having the flu knocked me out for most of the week, and with Mother's Day so close I really had to focus on that. I did still make a card for the challenge though - I'll share it with my card for THIS week's challenge, embossing. The background paper is one I made during my class at the library - I taught faux-faux patina. For how nervous I was before class started, I have to say I am so thoroughly enjoying it! I have the best group of women coming to play with paper :)

OK, so for this week's challenge:

Supplies: image from Bugaboo; sentiment from Reverse Confetti; Spectrum Noir markers; Mowed Lawn distress ink; Sakura Stardust glitter pen; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; background: Studio Calico Seafoam mist, gold & silver EP; Sizzix embossing folder, Versamark

The ornament, her shoes, and earrings all have Dimensional Magic for added shine.

And for last week's challenge, to use pine cones, greens, and the word Believe:

Supplies: Believe stamp from Stampendous; all other stamps from Neat & Tangled;  Distress inks in Festive Berries, Pine Needles, Gathered Twigs; watercolour paper & water brush; May Arts kraft twine; classic small circle Nesties; papers from stash

Fa la la la la...

For the most part I've been working on Mother's Day cards this past week, but a couple others had to creep in too - like this one for the current Merry Monday challenge to use a cat or dog.

Supplies: inkadinkado stamp; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Recollections pom pom ribbon; May Arts cream twine; paper from Echo Park; bells from stash

Unfortunately my body has decided that now would be a good time to come down with the flu...mmm, fever and chills and coughing oh my. I'm pretty sure that since January I've spent more time sick than well. Grrr.

Vintage Snowman

Do not mistake the sentiment on this card for a request, Mother Nature! Although the snow is melting nicely, I still have a 6-foot bank on one side of the yard (and about a foot covering the yard) so no thanks, we're good :)

Supplies: papers from Simple Stories; May Arts twine; buttons from stash

One of those cards that just came together - love the little clip art pages in those Simple Stories paper packs!

Kraft is definitely one of my go-to colours for vintage - entering at Merry Monday!

Merry Monday Angel

This week's Merry Monday challenge is to use angels or cherubs on your card. I played with some NBUS PTI stamps and dies :)

Supplies: stamps, dies, and classic kraft ink from PTI; papers from Fancy Pants; Nesties label die; Stampin' Up linen thread; button from stash; Bow Easy

I used my Bow Easy for the multi-loop bow and stitched it into place with the button. I need to practice stamping on matching die-cuts but I think this works with the rustic feel of the card!

Merry Monday Colour Challenge

Three attempts to make this card. Hoo boy. Sometimes the simplest cards give the most trouble!

Supplies: wreath & sentiment stamps from PTI; doily stamp unknown; Fresh Snow PTI ink; Hero Arts Tide Pool & Green Hills inks; scalloped circle Nesties; Timeless Twine; gems from dollarama; Wink Of Stella clear glitter pen

Trees at Merry Monday

What's more iconic for Christmas than the Christmas tree? Spoiled for choice this week at Merry Monday!  I used just patterned papers for my card.

Supplies: papers from Simple Stories; buttons from Dress it Up; Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery supplies

I sewed the tiny buttons on over top of the buttons printed on the tree, and then added some more stitching for texture.

Waiting...

...so hard. I'm terrible at waiting to give people presents - the whole month of December I am just about bursting with BUT I WANT YOU TO OPEN IT NOWwwwwww! That's the look on this little girl's face waiting to see what's inside the box:

Supplies: Pure Innocence stamp from MFT; papers from American Crafts; Doodlebug doily; Spectrum Noir markers; green Wink of Stella pen; Corner Chomper

I tore some card stock to make "snow" underneath the present as the image looked more like grass to me :)

Merry Monday #149 - Guest Designer!

Eeeek! I am so excited to be the guest designer at Merry Monday this week!

I knew I wanted to make something special for my card, so I went to quilling!

Supplies: quilling paper; rhinestones from Dollarama

I couldn't get an accurate photo of the colour - the background is a pale robin's egg blue. The snowflake was quilled in two layers, and then I added the sparkle.

I know I can't wait to see what the other designers have created - hop on over to Merry Monday for all the details on how to play, and I hope to see you play along!

Merry & Bright!

I wanted to use up some paper scraps for this week's Merry Monday challenge, and the sketch at The Challenge was perfect - no new pieces of paper were cut into for this card. Score!

Supplies: All papers from American Crafts; Mowed Lawn distress ink; PTI sentiment; Wplus9 banner dies; classic small circle Nesties; stocking button from Dress it Up

I love how it turned out - such a crisp colour combo!

Stars!

I haven't used this Stampin' Up set in ages, so when I saw the prompt for Merry Monday was Stars, I thought I'd get it inky.

Supplies: stamps from Stampin' Up; Versamark; Pirate Gold EP; Corner Chomper; yellow rhinestones from Dollarama

And just for fun, one of my favourite songs at the moment:

Washi Santa

I don't usually combine these two challenges, but with my back out of commission this week I had to so I didn't miss either of them.  Jingle Belles Here We Come A-Washi-ing and Merry Monday Santa.  I made the background panel by criss-crossing two washi tapes.

Supplies: Stamps from Paper Smooches; washi from Recollections; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Festive Berries distress ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

The eyes, glasses, nose, and boots are glossed up. And with half an hour left that's it!!

Candy Cane Mouse!

The challenge to use Candy Canes for this week's Merry Monday gave me my idea right away, it just took me the whole week to actually get around to it!

Supplies: Candy Cane Mouse digi from Bugaboo; Spectrum Noir markers; Hero Arts sentiment; Diamond Stickles; AC papers; Festive Berries distress ink; red rhinestones

Cute & simple! This is also perfect for the Simon Says All Creatures Great & Small challenge.

Merry Monday Plus The Challenge

I've been having a great time playing with sketches this week - this is my second of three sketch cards for you today! Fabulous sketch from Lesley for The Challenge #24, and it paired very nicely with the Merry Monday challenge of Bows.

Supplies: Bugaboo snowman digi; Spectrum Noir markers; Bo Bunny papers; Basic Grey button; Timeless Twine; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic; Picket Fence distress Stickles

I'd printed out lots of these snowman frame images planning to make a set of cards before Christmas - which didn't happen - so figured I'd start using them slowly with the year-long challenges. After colouring I used Dimensional Magic on his nose, eyes, ornament, and holly berries, and some Picket Fence stickles to give him a glittery snowy look.

Merry Monday:

Super last minute!

Less than an hour before the linky closes on this week's Merry Monday - I had my card made but forgot to photograph it!

Supplies: MME paper; PSX angel stamp; Versamark & Pirate Gold EP; scrap of textured paper; Spectrum Noir markers; Simple Stories LOVE sticker; Studio Calico veneer heart

Pretty straightforward! Now off to sneak it in!

Merry Monday & the Kraft Journal

These challenges just really wanted me to combine them! Merry Monday's prompt this week is Houses, and The Kraft Journal is Anything Goes - Winter.

Supplies: papers from American Crafts; sticker from Bo Bunny

Super simple!

Merry Monday Critters!

I suppose one of the advantages of not having cleaned up my desk in a while is that I had no trouble picking an image for the challenge this week at Merry Monday - this sheet of Penny Black stickers was still out!

Supplies: Penny Black sticker; Stampendous medallion stamp; PTI sentiment; Versamark; Stampendous white detail EP; memory box paper

Very simple, just embossed the medallion & sentiment, put the sticker on white card stock first so I could give it a little border & pop it up on foam tape.
