Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Coffffffeeee....the elixir of life! I just refilled my cup and am ready to share the card I created for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Print

Supplies: Paper Smooches stamps; Paper Cottage collection from Basic Grey; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Distress inks in Vintage Photo and Tumbled Glass; classic small oval Nesties; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

I was going to make the whole cup glossy, and then I thought naaaahhhh, just the little heart :) Make it pop!

The rather-perfectly-named challenge Chocolate, Coffee, & Cards has this great sketch that I wanted to play with again.

There's all the information you need at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, and check out the Facebook page too :)

Wishing you a Happy Birthday!

Well, my back WAS getting better, and then I dropped the soap in the shower. *sigh* Being old kinda stinks! And the laundry's piling up, so I envision another week with muscle relaxants and lots of naps. Actually, that doesn't sound all that bad! I've still managed to spend some time sitting gingerly at my desk, so I have a few posts for you today.

Supplies: Chibi flower girl from Bugaboo; Spectrum Noir markers; patterned papers from Heidi Swapp; Wplus9 banner die; PTI sentiment; Festive Berries distress ink; classic small oval Nesties; embroidery supplies

I printed out & coloured two copies of the chibi girl so I could pop up the flower and her head. She's so cute! I'm entering three challenges with this card:

Catch The Bug - Bingo: I used the right-hand column, adding stitched borders to the panels, flower, and 3D

Creative Card Crew - Birthday with Sentiment

Pig out!

Playing with some more new stuff - I'm generally terrible at getting new digis printed out & USED, so I'm impressed with myself that I've managed to use all the different ones I purchased from From the Heart within the first month of having them!

Supplies: image & sentiment from From the Heart; Spectrum Noir markers; Pink Crushed Velvet Fun Flock from Doodlebug; papers from AC; Snow Writer; googly eyes; green rhinestones from Dollarama

I spent a ridiculously long time colouring the piggy only to end up with it looking like it had some sort of weird skin disease. Even the kids were like....mmmm, not your best work. Fun Flock to the rescue, a nice generous coat makes it fun to touch & covers up my less than stellar colouring job!

Since the digi & papers are new, I'm popping this in over at Naughty or Nice with a rare for me Nice entry, and at Chocolate, Coffee, & Cards where the challenge is NO CIRCLES.

I spent most of this week working on a gift for a friend that I can't share yet, so I've been quiet - but once I hit PUBLISH I'm off to work with paper again :)

Fluttering Leaves

When I saw this week's CASology prompt, FLUTTER, my first thought was butterflies. I wanted something a little less obvious, though, and when I spied this Mo Manning image I thought BINGO! I'd already printed it out to participate in the Cats & Dogs challenge at Chocolate, Coffee, & Cards.

Supplies: digital stamp from Mo Manning; lead stamps from Jane's Doodles; Happy Fall stamp from The Craft's Meow; Spectrum Noir markers; Distress inks in Brushed Corduroy, Fired Brick, Mustard Seed.

The stamped leaves were all done by stamping off the first impression to get lighter colours. I cut the sentiment stamp in half (!) because it wouldn't fit once I'd trimmed the panel.

Dotty Krafty Christmas

A rare triple-challenge combo for me today - once I got started, it just came together perfectly for all three. Love that! In addition, I've used all sorts of goodies from a whole bunch of pals :)
Merry Monday - snowflakes, dry embossing, vintage colours
The Kraft Journal - Funky Junk
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - Polka Dots

Supplies: patterned kraft paper from stash; Stampin' Up burlap ribbon - from DONNA!; veneer snowflake - from GLENDA!; Sew Easy tool - from CHRIS!;  Pumice Stone & Black Soot distress ink; Versamark & clear detail EP; Cuttlebug embossing folder; vellum; classic small circle Nesties;  sentiment from MME

The bottom piece of card stock was pre-printed with the distressed black polka dots. The tilted shiny panel was printed with light brown stars. I embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder, and then swiped the Pumice Stone ink over the raised dots. In the close up you can see a few spots where there are black stars now on the raised dots. Cool! I sprinkled the entire piece with clear EP and heated. The sentiment was embossed with clear EP as well, inking first with Versamark & then Black Soot.

As for the 'funky junk' Kraft Journal challenge, all the pieces used were scraps. And black & kraft is a pretty funky colour combo for a Christmas card!

For Merry Monday - I went with the challenge prompt that the Merry Monday crew had LeAnne thinking they were using :)

And of course, there are lots of polka dots for Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards.

Embossed Merry Monday

Man, sometimes titles are just a pain to come up with! I should start naming them like hurricanes ;)
Well, it's Sunday, so here I am with my Merry Monday Christmas card for the week - and I'm also popping it in at Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards for their embossing challenge.

Supplies: snowflake stamps from Stampendous; sentiment from Flourishes; Versamark; White Detail EP (Stampendous); Colorbox Frost White pigment ink; pearls from Dollarama

With the pale aqua cardstock it's hard to see, but I smudged some pigment ink in an oval shape around the sentiment to help it stand out. It didn't quite work, lol. The pearls I used are sold as strips, so I just snipped in between them to use them here.
