With Heartfelt Sympathy

This week I made a number of sympathy cards - I find it so much easier to make them at the same time. I kept the Kraft Journal "make it in minutes" challenge in mind while I was creating, and hit on just the right idea.

Supplies: stamps & mat stack die from PTI; Cuttlebug embossing folder; kraft card stock; Distress inks in Brushed Corduroy and Antique Linen

I was smart and cut out two of the mat stack pieces, because I knew I would (and I did) muff up the stamping on the first one. The sentiment initially had a period on the end, which I cut off - somehow the period just seemed rude. Offended by punctuation? I was. After embossing the white cardstock I sponged it with Antique Linen to tone down the brightness a notch, and attached it & the sentiment panel with foam tape.

Even with my stamping boo-boo this came in at around 15 minutes to create :)

xoxo,
Jessi

Very nice. Really like the sponging on the embossing and how much the EF and the design on the stamp match. Thanks so much for entering your lovely card in the Kraft Journal challenge.

Last time I worked ahead on sympathy cards, I used them all (plus needed an extra pet one) within a few weeks. I hope you can hang on to yours much longer. This one is beautiful in its clean design. (Punctuation has been known to be offensive.)

That's a beautiful style of sympathy card, and I agree! It's much easier to make them and keep them on hand than to try to put one together in a minute's notice! I really like the embossing design!

I'm offended that the greeting had punctuation too. What's up with that?! Then they should have capitalized the first word of their sentence (which isn't officially a sentence). Great quick and easy card. Sympathy cards are so hard to think up. Keep 'em simple and sincere. And without punctuation.

Somehow you can take a somber card and write a humorous blog post. This is why we're friends - those darn offensive punctuation marks!
