SPARKS, Players, and LOTS of photos!

OK! You ever have one of those weeks where you just cannot settle into your usual routine? That would be this week. Up too late, not sleeping well, at loose ends all day long like I've forgotten to do something...argh. Anyway, since most of you are here for cards, first I will do that, and then I will show you a whole bunch of pictures from today.

Annnnnd, I jumped on the bandwagon not too long ago and started a Facebook page - if you'd like to 'like' it the link is here.

Paper Smooches SPARKS has a week five "Anything Goes" challenge - yay! and The Paper Players have a sketch this week.  I was searching through my (enormous) stash of papers and found this Bo Bunny pad, and this came together:

Supplies: papers from Bo Bunny; sentiment from Paper Smooches; Colorbox Frost White pigment ink; Stampendous white detail EP; circle punches - 3/4" and 1"; Sakura Stardust glitter pen

I wanted to highlight the little butterfly, so I sketched over it with my glitter pen & then made a little frame for it. It's a happy little butterfly :)

Here's the Paper Players sketch:

And now, a jump in case you want to skip the personal stuff :)

I've been following Stacy at Sweethearts & Sweet Tarts  for a while, and she's always sharing beautiful pictures from her yard. And this morning, I was reading Darnell's blog (this post) and I just felt inspired to take some pictures while I was outside this afternoon.

Miscellaneous 'volunteer' blooms - I love these. They're certain to be some sort of weed ;)

This bush is about 4 feet tall/wide, and is covered with these gorgeous yellow flowers for weeks.
Also likely a weed, lol.

We have two of these trees - they have pink blooms in the late spring, and these berries form in July. The birds give them a wide berth, whatever they are.

The last hurrah of the day lilies along the driveway - there are dozens.
Absolutely gorgeous, and I'm incredibly allergic to them.

Here's what the boys were up to -

laying down more soil, and replanting grass. 48th time's the charm, right?

AND here's what Abby & I were up to.
Ball.
Frozen watermelon.
New Sookie Stackhouse novel.
Music.

And my view of the house...it looks almost NICE from here!

I got to feeling girly - and decided to paint my toenails.
Note to self - if you're going to do that, don't do it outdoors while playing fetch with the dog.
Pretty sure pedicures aren't supposed to have grass, dirt, and 'ball prints' left behind...
This nail polish is UV-reactive - that's the reactive colour.

This is the non-reactive colour - basically a yellowish clear coat.

Keepin' it real, this is what happened when I tried to get the non-reactive shot - my foot suddenly seemed extraordinarily comfortable. As is the Cuttlebug right there. Silly Abby :)

Thanks for sharing a bit of my day with me :) You guys are the best.
xoxo,
Jessi

Your photos!!!!!!!! What a nice day you had. Of course it's always great to see the guys working while you read a book and do your toenails! Oh, and can't forget that tasty watermelon too! Great photos.

Such a pretty card...love the cheerful colors and your nice focal point. I have to share that I, too, am out of sorts this week and I have heard others say the same. I think it is "summeritis", whatever that is. ANyway, I am glad you had some time to spend outside! Thanks for making my sketch look great this week!

As always, another fabulous card Jessi! Love how you glittered the butterfly and framed it! Awesome pics of the yard, flowers, child labor, and Abby with your toes. (Again, where's the Flock!) LOL!

Good job, Jessi! I love your sharing and getting to know you better! I think my favorite was the boys hard at work ... what did you have to bribe them with? LOL! I love the lilac-colored blooms (could that be wisteria?) and your smushy-wooshy dog person!!

Great butterfly card, too!!

Oh that peeking window for the butterfly is perfect! Such pretty papers and pretty card. Your bush -- could it be potentilla, aka shrubby cinquefoil? And could your trees be high bush cranberries?
UV-reactive toenails -- that is so you. :P

It is official - I am now the only person left without a FB account lol. Your card is gorgeous - beautiful papers and I love how you've highlighted the pretty butterfly. Beautiful botanicals too - I also have some of the purply flowers, I think they are a weed but they are far too pretty to pull out.

Hugs, Dawn
