The Evil Doublemint Twins Challenge

Have you ever met someone and thought....oh em gee, I think we were separated at birth? Well, that's me & Chris. She's one of my awesome teamies over at the Drunken Stampers - and based on our crazy sense of humour and love of all things Paper Smooches, we MUST be related somehow! If you haven't visited her blog, Chrispy's Creations, you are truly missing out.

Since we both love Paper Smooches, a lot, we thought it would be fun to pose a little challenge for the two of us. First we figured out what sets we have in common, and  then like an idiot I suggested having my son Connor pick two sets. The challenge was to use one image from each set, and then anything goes for the rest. WHY did I let Connor pick? Because you know what he picked....two sets that both of us looked at together and went.....

*shrug*

I dunno.

Hmmmm......

Zoo Crew   and Green Acres. Zoo animals and farm animals. And a farmer. Hmmm. How the heck are we going to combine them?  I can't wait to see what Chris came up with - this is the reveal for both of us, as we haven't seen each other's cards OR talked about what we did - other than the 'omg, we're never letting Connor pick again!' discussion.

Supplies: Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Bic Markers; and googly eyes; Paper Smooches sets: Green Acres (hen) and ('t' from 'snort'); Zoo Crew (hippo and 'hippo'); Birthday Buddies ('bird' plus 'y', 'wo' from 'worm'); Simply Said ('we' and final 'e' from 'welcome,' 's' from 'so sorry'); Party Posse (sheep)

I stared at the two sets for days, and this pun kept popping into my head. I was lamenting the fact that the sheep wasn't part of the Green Acres set when I remembered "DUH! As long as I use those two sets I can use anything else!" Five sets on this one card is a lot, but once I got going I was determined to cobble the sentiment together with only Paper Smooches stamps too. The hen is paper-pieced so that the colouring didn't bleed through the single layer. The hippo & the top sheep are both popped up on foam tape. And, with plenty of masking, cursing, and smudging, the sentiments came together.

I can't WAIT to go see what Chris made!  Thanks for a super fun challenge, my evil twin ;)
xoxo,
Jessi

ETA: she KICKED my butt!! Go look!

Shut the front door! Your card totally ROCKS Jessi!! I'm sitting here, still with my jaw in my lap, saying 'This is brilliant! Why didn't I think of that!!' This is punny perfection at it's best!! (I bow down in shame, saying I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!)
